You know who I think are pretty awesome?  These guys…

I’m pretty darn glad that Maxwell, Spencer and I have them both in our life!

Also sending lots of love today to Granddaddy in Searcy and Granddad in Montgomery!  Happy Father’s Day!

Weekend recap

May 29, 2013

I love long weekends.  Especially long weekends where we have no real plans and just stay home.  We had a great holiday weekend just laying low.  What did we do?  Well…

On Friday afternoon, I got the boys all ready to go to the pool for the first time this year!  They were so excited they just sat there with their mouths hanging open…

pool

ha! and, yes, I totally dressed them alike again.  I can’t help it.

My parents got an apartment in Birmingham and we’re able to use the pool up there.  Hooray!  We had a great time..

Even Spencey loved kicking his feet in the water!

Robert met us up at the pool and then we went out to dinner.  By the time we got to the restaurant, Spencey looked like this..

I guess all the kicking wore him out!

Saturday, after a little extra snuggle time in our pj’s…

pjs

we got to hit up another pool – this time for a birthday party!  It was Maxwell’s friend Chiles’ 3rd birthday and everyone splish splashed to wish her well!

I’m pretty sure Maxwell’s favorite part of the party was the cupcake..

They were pretty good!  Olexa’s!  yum.  The rest of the day was filled with a good nap and a fun dinner out at The Club.

Sunday morning Robert went to play golf so the boys and I had some bagels in the morning…

and some chocolate chip cookies after lunch  🙂

That afternoon Maxwell blew some bubbles…

enjoyed the pretty weather…

and wrestled with his brother…

That night, Robert grilled some steaks.  yum.

Monday = bonus day!  We started out with some bed head pictures…

and then paid tribute to our soldiers with the Pledge of Allegiance!

Then we watered the plants…

and then Maxwell ended up watering the entire deck, patio and himself…and tried to water me!

The day ended with a trip to Target to get some new pool toys…

Can’t wait to use those noodles this week!

So, that was our weekend.  Don’t be jealous of our exciting life.  🙂

Thomas the Train

May 2, 2013

Three weekends ago, we took the boys out to The Heart of Dixie Railway to ride Thomas the Train!  It was supposed to be a nice, spring morning but the weather decided to be disagreeable and we were met with cold rain the whole time we were out there.  Definitely not fun.  I think Maxwell was still excited to see and ride Thomas…even if he kept saying he didn’t want to ride the train!  Luckily we had two umbrellas with us and raincoats.  I hadn’t stuck in a coat for Spencer as it wasn’t supposed to be that cold so he got to wear Maxwell’s extra jacket.  That 2T jacket fit him just fine for a few hours!  🙂

Overall it was a fun day.  Not sure we’ll do it again, but fun to do once!  😉

We did get our official picture taken in front of Thomas.  My scanner isn’t working right now so here’s a great picture of the picture!  ha!

A day game!

April 22, 2013

On Saturday, we met up with some friends and drove down to Tuscaloosa for the A Day game.  It was a beautiful spring day and we had a great time.  Maxwell loved getting to play with his friend, Chiles, and Spencer loved the view from the carrier strapped onto me!  Let me tell ya – carrying 20 lbs of baby all over the town and the stadium gets heavy!

The whole way down Maxwell was talking about getting a hot dog.  I have no idea where he got the idea but he was stuck on it.  Now, he’s never eaten a hot dog before (his choice) and when it came time to actually eat the hot dog in the stadium…well…

“No.”  figures.  (ps – I love the faces of the dudes in the background.  what?!)  He did warm up to the hot dog though and ate quite a bit of hot dog bun and maybe 1 or 2 little bites of the actual hot dog when it was all said and done!  🙂

Spencer enjoyed some lunch at the game too!

We all had fun and can’t wait for the season to begin!

The hunt!

April 11, 2013

On Saturday afternoon, we drove over to the Easter egg hunt outside of Montgomery that we go to every year (2012 and 2011).  It’s hosted by the parents of one of Robert’s friends from high school and it’s always a fun time and good chance for him to see some old friends.  Of course, you’ve got to dress up in some Easter duds to hunt the eggs!  Spencer wore the same bubble Maxwell wore last year and Maxwell rocked some seersucker pants.  Lookin’ sharp!

We got really lucky with the weather this year – the rain held off and the temps were perfectly pleasant!  We almost didn’t make it into the hunt though.  When we got there, we parked and quickly realized we were totally stuck in mud.  The Jeep was sunk down deep in muck and mire! (that’s for you, Robert!)  Luckily someone with a tow rope was right there and gave us a quick tow to get us out.  That would have been a mess if he hadn’t been there!  But, we made it in and were happy to be there!

When it was time to hunt for eggs, the boys were off!

Maxwell did pretty good finding lots of the candy that was hidden around the grounds…

and then he got to eat his findings.  His favorite? a Cadbury Cream Egg!  yum!  He loved it just like his momma does!  🙂

Spencer was a hit with all the ladies…they couldn’t stop squeezing on his cute little cheeks!

Maxwell had fun running around, eating cookies and swinging!

Spencer and I took our picture with the (scary!) Easter bunny.  I had just handed my camera to some man to take the picture – he had a great eye, huh?!  🙂

It was a fun day!

See you tomorrow for the last of the Easter posts!
