More Moondance pictures from Spain and Morocco…
Maxwell said it was the most fun two weeks of his life. What an unforgettable experience!
So proud of my world traveler! Cannot wait to see where he goes next.
Capturing our adventures one photo at a time...
Maxwell decided not to go back to camp this year and go on a Moondance trip instead. He got into his first choice trip of Spain and Morocco. He ended up being in a group with his good friend, Gray, and while he originally wanted to go on his own, it turned out to be fantastic and he was glad they were together. He got a sweet goodbye dumping from his sister…
and then we headed to Atlanta for him to catch his flight and he drove the entire way there – getting ready for 16!
He met up with Gray and off they went!
They flew into Madrid – and Maxwell got the comfort plus upgrade! Woohoo! I got to speak to him briefly when he landed in Spain and he said the entire group seemed “chill” and he had already made some camp friend connections with one of them. After they, it was no phones and all adventure! I’m not entirely sure what all they did but I know they hiked a lot – including to the top of Mount Toubkal. They surfed, went canyoning, explored the markets of Marrakech, took a Moroccoan cooking class, stayed in some gross hostels and in Muhammed’s palace! He saw parts of the world I have never seen and had the biggest adventure. Here’s lots of pictures I got from him – I don’t know where they are or what they are doing but I know he was about as happy as he’s ever been.
More Moondance tomorrow!
Picked this one up yesterday from two weeks in Spain and Morocco with Moondance…
First stop? Chipotle of course.
He said it was the most fun two weeks of his life. I missed him but am so happy he got to have such a fun adventure! Now very thankful to have all my babies home for a short weekend before they are off again!
Make it a great one!
Samantha’s Easter surprise was a trip to Dallas to see the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders! We watched the Netflix show together and I had been trying to find a way to get her to a Cowboys game but the timing never worked. Then I saw they were doing a Live Tour to a few cities so I got us some tickets to go to the Dallas show. What fun!! We left Tuesday morning and had quite an exciting trip when there was a medical emergency on our flight! Some elderly lady passed out and they couldn’t get her back to consciousness…
Thankfully she was ok and we made it to Dallas. First stop? Lunch at Neiman Marcus in Northpark!
We then spent a couple hours shopping! The best!
We then got checked into our hotel downtown and Samantha came to the terrible realization that, in the confusion of the flight, she left her airpods and her ipad on the plane. Womp womp. Oh well…it’s just stuff and stuff can be replaced! Thankfully she put it behind her because we had a fun night ahead…
We had great box seats right in the center!
The DCC did not disappoint! They did about 5 dances all together – with the finale being Thunderstruck of course! – and several other solo or small group dances. They also did a Q&A with Kelli and Judy.
They also had 4 girls do a live tryout to make it to the next round of DCC tryouts. In a very small world event, one of the girls trying out was from Mountain Brook, AL?! No way! The audience got to vote and we of course voted for her!! We did feel bad for the LA Laker girl that fell during her kick line. Oops!
Afterward we were able to snap some pics – Samantha was excited to see Jada from last season!
There were also cameras all around and Samantha was very excitedd about the prospect of being on Netflix next season! ha!
We flew back Wednesday morning and she was back at school by 11:30! The best, quick trip with my best girl!
Thunderstruck!
Day 3 started for me with the very best 3 mile walk on the trail that went along the coastline. Oh if I could do that walk every day I would be a happy girl!
After breakfast, the boys headed out for golf…
while the girls enjoyed the pool…
and some ice cream!
That night we put on our Hawaiian best…
and headed over to the Andaz resort for a luau!
It was really neat….and really, really windy and cold!
More pog juice please!
Robert caught the eye of the mistress of ceremonies! ha!
We all enjoyed the hula dancers and entertainment…
A very Hawaiian evening!
