Last week Spencer got to head to the beach with his buddies for Henry’s birthday!
Lots of fishing and lots of fun!
Capturing our adventures one photo at a time...
I decided Samantha and I needed a little adventure last week so we booked a very last minute day trip to Dallas! She was needing some new school clothes and dresses for ballroom so what better place to shop than Northpark mall?! We also hit up a few local stores and basically had the best day ever.
Early morning flight…
and success at the first stop! Hooray!
Lunch at Nordstrom…
and then we shopped and shopped and shopped!
This dress didn’t fit right but it did give her a good idea of a Halloween costume!
We shopped so much we were about to drop so we stopped for a treat!
Like mother, like daughter.
We had dinner at Eataly
…which included Samantha having a YouTube star sighting and this is her attempt at getting a photo of her! ha!
I think Samantha is as big of a Dallas fan as I am!
Our 10pm flight was late but it was totally worth it. You know she’s going to be the best dressed at ballroom!!
The most fun day with my very best girl. 💖
We only heard from Maxwell once about 7 or so days into the trek. He said everyone was making it fine and getting along. Can’t ask for more than that!
I think the last day of hiking was the longest and hardest – but they reached some cool peak and the views were worth it!
They stayed a night at base camp after the trek before traveling back to Denver to fly home.
They finally made it home about 9pm on July 4th! We had quite the welcoming crew waiting for them!
I am incredibly proud of every one of these boys. I hope they realize what an accomplishment this trek was.
I am continually grateful for Boy Scouts and the leadership, independence, responsibility, and – most importantly – friendships it has developed! Well done boys!
After many months in planning – almost a year to be exact – Maxwell and 8 other scouts and 3 dads headed off to trek Philmont Scout Ranch. I don’t now that anyone really knew what all they were getting into but I am so proud of this crew and know they made memories that will last a lifetime.
Ready to fly to Denver and then travel on down to New Mexico!
Arrival at base camp and getting ready to head out on the 9 day 50+ mile trek!
Off they go!
I don’t know the full details of what all they did along the way but there were various stops and checkpoints but they slept on the trail every night, carried all their food, and logged lots of miles!
More tomorrow!
