Last weekend Robert and I headed down to Montgomery for Phantom Host, one of the krewe balls. Ronnie was king and it was quite the event!!
I don’t know how I did this to this picture but it makes me laugh so I’m leaving it!
Lots of revelry and Mardi Gras fun!
We partied until 1am! I haven’t done that in a long time!!
The brunch the next day at Wynalkes was truly spectacular! All done up like the hunt and no detail was missed.
A fun celebration!
Everyone’s doing it…and now we are too!
We’re finally learning to play mahjong and no one better to learn from than GJ, the mahjong master!
Robert and Spencer had a fun day shooting with the two Ronnies on Saturday! It was a beautiful day to spend outside.
Spencer was a pretty good shot and took down 3 pheasants!
He was pretty proud! A fun day for (most of) the boys!
We still decided to head to Naples after Christmas even if GJ was still in London. Unfortunately, our travel day did not go as planned! Our 10:45am flight into Atlanta kept getting pushed back and Delta could not confirm us on another flight until the next evening! No thank you. We tried to fly Southwest direct into Orlando and rent a car but, that flight ended up getting majorly delayed as well. By 11:30am we were standing at the airport and made the decision to cut our losses and start driving! We pulled out of the parking deck and headed to Naples!
Robert drove the whole way through – about 12 hours – and while it was a very long day and late night, we sure were happy to waked up in Naples the next morning! This only worked because GJ was coming back to Birimingham the next week and could drive my car back. Things just have a way of working out!
The beach was crazy crowded all week – and also strangely foggy for a few of the days – but that didn’t stop us! We hung on the beach, went out for excellent meals, and watched some movies at home. Can’t beat it!
Lobster at Campiello’s!
We also had several good Gary sightings!
The fog!
Samantha and Maxwell dug quite a deep hole!
We also watched the final minutes of the Bama v. Michigan game with our new friends on the beach…wish it had gone the other way!
Roll Tide anyway!
GJ arrived home late on New Year’s Eve so we all (well, most of us!) stayed up until midnight to ring in 2025! We then headed back to Birmingham on the 1st with a thankfully uneventful travel day.
It was great to end the year and start a new one in my favorite place with my favorite people!
Happy New Year!
