Happy Monday!
Gonna be a great week!
Capturing our adventures one photo at a time...
Last Friday was the kickoff to football season with Spartan Day where offense and defense scrimmage each other. My players looking ready to go for school!
I didn’t see Maxwell again until that night but Spencer came home and got ready…
They then take a huge group photo and it was fun to try and spot 36 and 19!
Then 8th scrimmaged each other and Spencer got lots of good reps in…
Then JV scrimmaged and Maxwell started and got two plays in….
Unfortunately after those two plays we never saw him back on the field. We finally spotted him with the trainer…not good. I was supposed to leave to drive to Atlanta for the soccer tournament so we really didn’t know what to do. I decided to walk to the other side of the stands to see if I could get his attention. As I walked over there the trainer intercepted me and took me to Maxwell (a move I was later scolded for!!) where I learned he heard a pop while running and then had extreme pain in his hip flexor. Not good. Maxwell assured me he was fine for now and I left to drive 2.5 hours to Atlanta with Samantha and Jane in tow. By the time I got to Atlanta at 11pm, I was a wreck but the boys were doing a bit better at Tecate. Robert took Maxwell to OS1 on Saturday and we did not get the news we wanted. He has an avulsion fracture on his hip. Rest, minimal weight bearing, PT, no football. We got him back in for an MRI on Monday and the results confirmed what the Xray showed – minimally displaced apophyseal avulsion fracture of the left anterosuperior iliac spine. He did head to school with his crutches on Wednesday, much to his dismay. The focus now is rest and healing! This is obviously not how any of us wanted his sophomore football season to start but he will get through this and come out even stronger, I am sure.
Other end of summer stuff we did before school started…
The boys went to Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor with the church…
They had fun and I have no comment about the full body tattoos!
Spencer set up his locker…
and Samantha did a baking camp!
It’s been a long first week and we’re ready for the weekend. I wish I could say it will be restful but soccer tournament here we come!
Everyone came home pretty happy after a successful first day at school. Maxwell’s day started off strong getting to ride with Jack…
I got to see Samantha during the day when I took cookies to her grade while they got their picture made. Perks of being the 6th Grade Committee Chair!
I didn’t see Spencer until 8pm that night after school, football and scouts! He had a very long day but was in good spirits and pretty chatty when I finally saw him. Love that kid.
I think a great start is indicative of a great year!
And they’re off! To three different schools this year!
Maxwell is at the High School in 10th grade. He got dropped off at Jack’s house early so they could ride together…
Spencer is at the Junior High in 8th grade…
and Samantha is a “senior” at MBE in 6th grade…
I pulled up her first first day at MBE to compare to her last first day at MBE and just about died…
She’s so cute I can’t stand it and her outfit matches K to 6th!
I know it’s going to be a great year for these three…
Let’s goooo!
