See ya!
Maxwell is doing Spartan Baseball Club again and Tuesday night they got to play out at Regions Field where the Barons play! I didn’t get to go last year – Robert went – but I think I had much better weather than they had last year!
It’s pretty neat to see Maxwell up on the big screen and out there on that big field!
He has a strained arm muscle right now which we had actually been to Andrews about the day before…
so he wasn’t playing in the field but he did bat. He had a good hit to 3rd but got out at first.
A fun night at the big ballfield!
Go Spartans!
This past weekend we had plenty of fun mixed in with some weather anxiety! They were predicting a huge storm to roll through Birmingham Saturday afternoon with a very high probability of strong winds, giant hail, and major tornadoes. I spent much of the weekend prepping – moving things into GJ’s basement to keep them safe. We had our plan in place – helmets ready, flashlights and weather radio charged, and James Spann on the tv! Thankfully it really ended up missing Birmingham all together. We just had a regular old thunderstorm that wasn’t even that bad. Phew. I then spent Sunday putting everything back in place! I’d much rather spend my morning doing that than picking up from storm damage. Other than that, we did have a good dinner at the club Friday night…
while Spencer watched the AL game with some friends.
Maxwell was out and about but here’s a cute pic of him and some friends ice skating a few weeks ago!
One interesting fact we did learn during the storm? There’s a Samantha, AL!
See you tomorrow!
Today, March 13th is the 5 year anniversary of the day the world shut down for us. The kids came home from school on Friday the 13th of 2020 and just never went back… This is what I wrote on Monday 3/16/20:
Well, there are worse places to be stuck for the next 3 weeks than at home! School is cancelled and we’re practicing “social distancing” to keep ourselves and others healthy. The kids were supposed to have eDay work for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week but, after there were several confirmed cases right in our community, they just cancelled it all until April 6th. The kids are excited about no school but not super excited about spending the next 3 weeks in isolation!
Little did we know that 3 weeks would turn into months. What a strange time we lived through.
Happy to be back to “normal” and love to see these kids thriving in school!
Happy Thursday!
Between school and all the sports and all the things, we’re super busy…but not too busy for a game!
Fun fun!
