Last weekend Maxwell and Robert headed out for a 2 night canoe trip with Boy Scouts.
Even though they had platform tents with cots to sleep in, Maxwell was excited to try out his new hammock!
I think he learned a lesson about not picking trees that are too close together! ha! Saturday morning he got to earn a cooking credit by whipping up some pancakes and bacon for the other scouts. Robert said he was a great chef!
After breakfast, they headed out on the canoe adventure – all 17 miles and 5 hours of it! Whoa! I think it was pretty challenging but they all made it!
Grumpy young men!
What a crew!
Very proud of my scout and my scout wannabe!
Spencer had a good spring season with the Angels!
He pitched a decent amount and also got to play catcher which is really enjoyed! He’s pretty good at catcher and likes being in on the action for every ball.
Like Maxwell, Spencer is a good and versatile player that can really play any position needed. I love to watch him no matter where he is!
Of course, Samantha gets the award for the very best ballpark sister ever!
The Angels ended the season right in the middle with 4-6 record. They sure had fun though!
Super proud of this kid…
I really do love to watch him play.
Both boys had a fun spring baseball season even if it wasn’t their most winning season! Maxwell played on the 5th/6th grade combination rec league team. They had an independent coach lined up but, surprise, that fell through before practices even started. Robert and another dad, Charles, were asked to help “just at first with administration”…but obviously ended up being the full time coaches. The team was a bit like the Bad News Bears but Maxwell had some fantastic plays, pitched great, and had really good at-bats. I was very proud of him for persevering and playing his hardest! He’s a good ball player and he should stick with it!
The mighty Spartan Gray!
I don’t really care whether he wins or loses, I just love to watch him play!
Go Maxwell and go Coach Brown!!
Each year the 5th grade spends a week at Camp Alpine. The 5th grade teachers go along with parent chaperones. They have a full notebook of mostly science stuff they have to complete while going on fun adventures – hikes, waterfalls, climbing wall, ropes course, and – most exciting! – a dance! ha! They left bright and early Monday morning…
and we had zero contact with them until they came home Friday afternoon. I sure did miss my buddy but I think he had a great time. He didn’t have Coach Cain in his cabin, beat Slade up the climbing wall, and said the food was decent – a win all around!
I’m so glad they got to go and had a great time! This is a sweet group of kids and I’m grateful for the adventures they get to go on together.
