We had a very full and fun week of Homecoming! The fun started on Wednesday with dinner and the dance. Thankfully the boys got out of football practice in plenty of time to get cleaned up and pick up their dates…

Maxwell and his friends then met up at the Norwoods to take more pictures…

before heading to CCB for even more pictures!

Pretty sure this convo is Maxwell being annoyed with me trying to get so many photos and Robert telling him to chill out….while I took another photo. I apologize for nothing! ha!

They then had dinner at CCB before heading to the dance…

I think they only stayed at the dance about 30 minutes and then they had a little “after party” in our backhouse. What a fun night! Happy Hoco!

Maxwell managed to get himself another invite to T-town this past weekend! I think they had a great time…despite the lightning delays!

Ballroom

Samantha’s first ballroom was a success! My pretty girl was all dolled up and looking as pretty as ever!

There was a big get together before for all the Thursday night girls…

We then dropped them at Ballroom and came back an hour later – at 9:15, yawn! – for pickup. Samantha had said she just didn’t want to have to walk out with two girls and one boy…oh well! ha! But it was ok because she was with her best buddy Jane.

We even had a special guest for pickup!

They then headed to Sugar for a late night candy fix…this will not be happening most weeks!

Big Birthday!

It’s a BIG day celebrating a BIG birthday for someone we love BIG!! Happy 75th birthday to GJ!!!!

GJ makes 75 look good!

I can only hope to be as active and energetic and strong as she is at 75. She exercises daily and gets her steps in religiously (obsessively?! ha!) She’ll try any workout class and has even taken up line dancing. GJ is the living example of it’s never too late to learn something new! She’s an expert mahjong player (long before it was trendy!) and a master at her daily word games online. Keeping that brain sharp at 75!

Nothing slows GJ down and she’s always there when we need her. She’s the ultimate do-er! She shows up for all the things and is always willing to do the hard work – packing boxes, shoveling dirt, pulling weeds, planting planters, moving furniture – you name it, she’ll do it. She’s the best example of “where there’s a will, there’s a way!” Her hard work is an inspiration and a motivation and I’m so thankful I’ve had her to look up to my entire life. She’s the OG “best momma ever” and what I’m striving to be every day.

How lucky are these kiddos to get to have her as their GJ?! She shows up for the games and big events, she spoils them on their birthdays, and she’s always up for making cookies!

I’m so proud of how she takes on adventures and says “yes!” She’s seen a lot of the world in the past few years and I think that is so wonderful. I know Daddo would love all the trips and fun she has had!

GJ is always happy to just be along for the ride and we’re glad to have her. That said, when she says “would you like to hear my thoughts?” you better listen because she’s usually right! ha!
