Between all the baseball games and practices over the past two years, the boys have also put in lots of time at DBat with Trey.
Trey is awesome and I’m so proud of both Maxwell and Spencer and how hard they work.
Capturing our adventures one photo at a time...
Back to Pigeon Forge! After pool play Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the Yard Goats were seeded in the middle bracket for their first tournament game on Thursday. The weather was not cooperating..
But when they finally took the field they made it count! The Goats played a great game and took home the win! No photographer for this game but I got a few good shots on Spence while standing at the side fence…
Love that kid!
Everyone was pretty excited when they made the catch for the 3rd out to win the game!
They then had to turn around and play another game right after. They played so, so well but lost the game by one run in the 6th inning. It was a great game but just didn’t go our way. The the ending we wanted but a great run and an awesome experience all around!
So proud of all these Yard Goats and especially #11!
What a fun ending to rec baseball!
Congratulations Spencer! Your sportsmanship, poise on the field, good attitude, and hustle will take you far!! We love you!
Yes, there’s more Pigeon Forge! Wednesday the Goats had two games – a morning and evening game.
With all the siblings and friends that were there!
The photographer was back for the morning game…
Love these boys!
The evening game got delayed and turned into a very late night game. But the park was pretty with the most unbelievable full rainbow I’d ever seen! This photo does not do it justice!
There was no photographer for the night game so I took my own pictures. It really was neat to play there on the big field under the lights!
Spencer had a FANTASTIC game that night – he hit two singles and a triple! He also made a huge catch in the outfield. He played so well!
After each game they announce a player of the game from each team. I thought Spencer might have a chance given how well he had played and sure enough, he was name Player of the Game! I snapped this photo right as they announced his name and I love that little fist pump!
I was so proud of him and happy for him. His teammates were pretty happy for him too!
With his Player of the Game pin! …in the dark because apparently all of the lights in the ballpark automatically go off at 11pm and we were all still there!
Another exciting day in Pigeon Forge! Yes, there’s still more to come!
Tuesday the boys only had one game at the other field. This is the only photo I got because I was too busy melting from the blazing sun. It was maybe the hottest day yet and there was NO shade except for the 4 umbrellas we propped up around us. Not sure how these boys handled it on that field! They were also playing the top ranked team and lost 14-0. Not fun. But Spencer got to play 3rd base for a bit which he thought was fun!
But, we had fun afternoon plans to cool off!
White water rafting! I cannot say I was jazzed about this activity but it ended up being way more fun – and much less treacherous – than I was anticipating. Robert and Spencer were on a raft with boys and I love these pics!
I was on a raft with all adults – and felt pretty safe with a near professional kayaker sitting in front of me! ha!
That night we all had pizza in one of the cabins again.
Lots of adventure with some baseball mixed in!
Monday brought the first games of the week and the Yard Goats were ready!
I was ready too!
The boys had a morning game and an afternoon game. It was approximately 1000 degrees at the ballpark but the boys handled it well. There is a professional photographer that we paid to come take pictures at a few of the games and he got some great shots.
The photographer was also at the afternoon game when Spencer was pitching so that was cool.
What a stud!
I honestly can’t remember the scores of the two games but pretty sure they lost. It didn’t matter though – they all played so well!
That night everyone cut loose in Pigeon Forge! We all had dinner at the Local Goat…
and then hit up some go-carts…
and the mountain coaster!
Yes, I did it too. I fulfilled my “fun mom” quota for the year, I tell ya!
These Yard Goats even got to see some real goats!
Only in Pigeon Forge!! Lots more to come…
