Spencer had another fun season of OTM basketball with Magic! They worked hard with two practices a week starting back in November. First tournament was at Hoops and then the Jingle Bell Jam where they made it all the way to the final game. Spencer missed the final game for Paris and the team couldn’t pull out the win against MB Black. It was an excellent start to the season though!
When regular season play they were on a streak! All season the played hard and won all of their games except the ones against the other MB teams. Womp Womp. They came pretty close to beating MB Black but both times they played MB Green they just couldn’t put it together. It was not the ending the team wanted but they still had a great run, got better at basketball, and had fun.
Apparently I only take pictures of Spencer when he’s shooting free throws! ha!
Thankfully Maxwell got my phone and took some good shots at some games.
Go Magic!!
In between the start of baseball this weekend….
Robert and I got all dressed up and went out for a good cause!
A good weekend all around!
This winter I joined a 3.5 USTA team and played matches with them. It was fun and good experience – much more challenging matches but I still won more than I lost! I’ll play with them again for the spring season in addition to playing 4.0 for MBC. I say the more tennis the better!!
Of course, plenty of cardio tennis too….
Love love!
On top of the tonsillectomy this week, we’ve had more injuries than I care to deal with recently! About two weeks ago, Maxwell was covering 2nd base when the runner slid into the base and took him out at the knee. Ouch. He was really hurt and couldn’t walk. It happened on a Saturday and I got him into Andrews on Monday afternoon. He got x-rays and checked out by Dr. Ortega and thankfully it was just a deep contusion – a bone bruise.
It’s still giving him some pain but so thankful there were no ligaments damaged!
Then last weekend, Spencer was just shooting hoops during halftime of the 5th grade rec game and somehow came down wrong, fell, and hit his head on the court. He ended up majorly tweaking his neck and literally could not hold it straight. After a lot of back and forth, I ultimately took him to the ER at Children’s to get checked out.
They did X-rays and thankfully it was just a muscle issue. They sent us home with some valium and peace of mind! He’s still a bit crooked but recovering.
I’d like an injury free week please!
