Montgomery, Nashville, and Beyonce!

July 16, 2013

As I said yesterday, what a weekend! Robert so nicely let me have a night off to head to Nashville to see my friend Lyndsay and my wanna-be friend, Beyonce. It. was. awesome. While I was sad to be away from my boys, I thoroughly enjoyed the 24 hours in Nashvegas! 🙂

Saying bye to my two cuties…

bye bye boys

When I got to Nashville, Lyndsay and I went out to lunch and I sent this picture to Robert to let him know I had made it and was enjoying myself.

I guess Robert showed Maxwell the picture because when I called a bit later, Maxwell got on the phone and said “Where are you Momma? you havin’ some orange juice?” ha! Yes, Maxwell, some very good orange juice! 🙂

We had a great day and then hung out at Lyndsay’s office before heading to the concert. Her office has the best location with a whole glass wall overlooking Broadway in downtown Nashville.

Loved getting to see some old friends!

I could have stood up there and people watched all night!

We headed over to the concert (just one block from her office) around 9:00. Ready for Queen Bey!

We had AWESOME seats. The show was incredible. I’m not a die-hard Beyonce fan or anything, but I was pretty star-struck. She can put on a great show. The dancing alone was worth it! I think my favorite number was the mashup of Single Ladies and the theme song to the Jeffersons! what?! So, so fun. I danced all night and loved every second!

The people watching at the concert was pretty awesome too. Especially these ladies…

God bless Beyonce and the USA! 🙂

Meanwhile, back in AL… Robert’s family was actually having a little “Fam Jam” as they like to call it. Robert’s cousins from California were in town so the entire side of my mother-in-law’s family went to Montgomery for the night to see each other. Robert bravely took both boys down and enjoyed the zoo, swimming and a day of fun. Thankfully, the boys were super well behaved for him and both slept great. Major props to Dad for taking such good care of everyone!

As much fun as I had in Nashville, I couldn’t wait to get home to my boys! There’s nothing like going away to make you appreciate what you have. I think that means I need to go away more often, right?! Ha! Just kidding, Robert…well, until October! 🙂

See you tomorrow!

Would love to hear from you! 2 Comments

Happy Monday! what a weekend. Robert took the boys to Montgomery to hang with family. I went to Nashville to hang with my friend Lyndsay and Beyonce! A good time was had by all. Pics to come this week.

Today, nothing like pulling out “baby” toys that Maxwell used to play with and seeing him enjoy them the second time around just as much as the first.

Until he started crawling, I could just sit him down in front of it and leave him happy as can be! Now he crawls all around it and tries to pull up on it!

Love to see them playing together!

More Naples

July 11, 2013

Again, we had a great time in Naples.

I loved going up to Waterside for coffee, shopping and checking out the waterfalls.

We rode bikes…and Spencer even got in on the action!

Maxwell learned how to drive the race car all by himself and then Spencer got to take it for a spin too…

Maxwell also learned how to pedal his bike!  big stuff!

But, the best part of the trip was getting to hang with my boys…

Naples!

July 10, 2013

We headed down to Naples for a little Independence Day vacation and, man, we had a good time!  As I mentioned earlier, Alabama was a wash-out the whole time we were gone so we’re so glad we got to escape the rain and soak up some FL sunshine!

We flew down on Wednesday the 3rd and the flight was great.  Thursday morning we took advantage of the pretty weather and headed to the beach!

Maxwell was sure to take proper hand wear to dig in the sand!  ha!

Friday morning, we once again got lucky with the weather and Robert and I played some golf.  And when I say I played, I mean I drove the cart and yelled “get in the hole!” after each of Robert’s putts.

naples

I think it helped.  Robert disagreed.

Saturday morning we headed back to the beach where Maxwell really got into digging and swimming!  so fun!

King of the hill!

and just a little proof that I was there too!  🙂

When we weren’t out and about, Maxwell and Spencer had a blast playing at home, especially since GJ and Daddo had all sorts of new toys for them.  Yeah, these boys aren’t spoiled at all!

A new trampoline…

some awesome (and slightly dangerous) frisbees…

frisbee

and new trucks!!  Including an awesome cement mixer.  Maxwell and GJ mixed up some Cheerios cement and made a road…smooth,no bumps!

Yes sir, boss!

Spencer perfected his crawling while we were down there.  As a result, we got to hear Maxwell yell “no no no, ya-ya!” many times as Spencer crawled straight for Maxwell’s toys.  Somebody is gonna get a big lesson in sharing soon!

Some other funny things…

Spencer tried out some knee pads on the rough floors…

Maxwell discovered the joys of vanilla ice cream with Hershey’s syrup!

and he also discovered the joys of his brother’s jumperoo!  ha!

It really was such a fun trip.  I’ve got a few more pictures to share but I’ll wait until tomorrow.  See you then!
