TMNT

February 10, 2015

We have a new fascination around the house – TMNT. As in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I’m afraid the days of our firetruck obsession are gone and we’ve moved on to “big boy” things. It’s sad…sniff sniff. Between the big cats obsession of the last 3 months and the newfound interest in the TMNT, Maxwell has moved out of “baby” for sure…and Spencer is just tagging right along!

I’m not even sure how Maxwell learned about the TMNT but he saw an episode on tv and then got a TMNT coloring book and it just grew from there.  Then, on Friday morning of last week, he decided to make his own TMNT costume for himself and Spencey…

pretty clever!

I had to go to Target after I dropped him off at school and I wandered down the toy aisle and, well, I’m a sucker…

tmnt

He’s been SUCH a good brother since Samantha was born and I just thought he deserved a little treat. He was THRILLED when he got home from school…

Honestly, he was so excited and told me thank you about 50 times!  🙂

I guess I have to admit that he’s not a baby anymore…even if he does call them “Ninjan Turtles”!  🙂  We’ll see how long this turtle kick lasts! Kowabunga dude! Turtle Power!

Good day sunshine

February 9, 2015

Happy Monday!

weekend

We had a beautiful weekend around here with plenty of warmer temps and sunshine!  Hooray!

On Friday, I dropped Maxwell off at school and then enjoyed a morning with my two babies – Spencey and Samantha! I managed to even keep Spencer off the iPad for the morning!

spencer playing

We also made some Valentine cookies and got a special treat at Target for the boys which I’ll tell you about later (kowabunga!)…

cookies

I was smiling the biggest all weekend because the sun was shining and this little girl slept all night in her chair instead of in the bed with me! Yes! I put her in the velcro swaddle for the first time and she did great, even sleeping for a 4.5 hour stretch!

velcro swaddle

It allowed her to get better sleep too because she didn’t get waked up (awoken?) when Maxwell came into our room at 6:30am like he does every day. She was able to keep snoozing in her chair for another hour while I got up and dressed. Again, YES! If she keeps this up, like she did all weekend, she’s going to turn out to be as easy as Spencer in the sleep department. That would be GREAT.

On Saturday, we all enjoyed some time outside soaking up the sunshine!

To top the day off, we actually went out to dinner for the first time since Samantha was born. We went to our new favorite, Babalu, and loved getting ask for a table for FIVE!  🙂

Sunday was just as pretty and we went for a – very long! – walk that ended up being great. Pics to come!

See you tomorrow!

Friday!

February 6, 2015

Friday! We’ve been busy over here the past several days…

Samantha had her first bath…

bath

She didn’t love getting her body cleaned but did really enjoy getting her hair done! She is a girl after all!  🙂

bath

She also took her first snooze in the swing.

I managed to get all 3 kids up and dressed and out the door in time for school Monday, Wednesday and Friday…

On Wednesday, I also took Samantha up for her first doctor checkup at 8:30. She got a great report! She’s back up to 7lb, 6.5 oz! She had dropped to 6lb, 13oz when leaving the hospital so a 9 oz gain in one week is impressive!

Spencer celebrated Groundhog Day at school…

Maxwell continued to love on “sweetie” (as he likes to call her!)…

Samantha got to meet Susan…

Homecoming!

February 5, 2015

After 3 long nights and 2 days in the hospital, we finally got to bring Samantha home on Thursday! While we were getting ready to hit the road at the hospital…

the boys were at home baking up a treat for Samantha with GJ’s help!

There was a lot of taste-testing involved for sure! Had to make sure it was juuuust right for baby sister!

When we got home, I had to wait in the garage…

until I could bring Samantha in to see her surprise birthday cake!  yay!

So much to love about this picture…home with my THREE babies, Spencey’s chocolate mouth, Maxwell’s face in his hands…love.

Even though it was only 10:00 am, we all enjoyed a piece right away because, hey, you only turn 0 once, right?! 🙂

The rest of the day was spent letting everyone hold the baby…

and just getting used to having her around!

My parents and Susu packed up and headed back to Florida the next day but not before we snapped this picture of the 4 generations of GIRLS!  Me, Samantha Keath, Jan Keath, and Martha Keath!

Finally, as always, the BIGGEST thank you in the world to the one and only GJ. She’s the one that keeps our ship sailing in the right direction! The boys didn’t miss me one bit because they were so happy and entertained with GJ. Not sure how any of us would make it without her. We love you GJ!

I’m just so happy I could give you another little girl to spoil!  You’re welcome.  🙂

A fantastic homecoming indeed!

Would love to hear from you! 5 Comments

Hospital Day 2

February 4, 2015

I woke up on my second day in the hospital so happy to find out that Samantha was indeed real and was indeed a girl!  🙂  and let’s get serious, it’s not like I just woke up that morning – I was up all night sleeping in about hour long stretches. I didn’t care though. I might have been tired but I had a baby girl and nothing was going to take me off that high!

samantha

The boys came up that day and brought Samantha a little treat – a tiger stuffed animal rattle picked out by Maxwell especially for her!  Perfect!

rattle

Samantha also had a treat for her brothers – these cool Boogie Board writing tablets.

The boys were so excited to check out their baby sister and, this time, even Spencey wanted to get up there and see her…and touch her!

Everyone took turns holding her…

and kissing on her.

Soon the boys settled into their iPads and Robert held the baby and I just had to laugh and smile at this image…

full house

We’ve got a full house now!

That night I also gave Samantha her first manicure!  🙂 Her nails were really long when she was born so I took some baby emery boards to her little nails so she wouldn’t scratch her face…

and look at her scaly skin! eek! That’s what a full term 40 week baby’s hands look like!

It was a great day 2 with this sweet baby girl!

Tomorrow? Home! See you then.

Would love to hear from you! 4 Comments
