What a day! It’s our best guy’s birthday today!!!

To quote one of your *favorite* books to read to the kids before bed…
If we didn’t have birthdays, you wouldn’t be you.
If you’d never been born, well then what would you do?
If you’d never been born, well then what would you be?
You might be a fish! Or a toad in a tree!
You might be a doorknob! Or three baked potatoes!
You might be a bag full of hard green tomatoes.
Or worse than all that. . . Why, you might be a WASN’T!
A Wasn’t has no fun at all. No, he doesn’t.
A Wasn’t just isn’t. He just isn’t present.
But you. . .You ARE YOU! And, now isn’t that pleasant!
Robert, we’re so glad you aren’t a Wasn’t!!
I’d say 40 was pretty good to you….

Can’t wait to see what 41 brings! We love you so much and are so thankful for all that you do.

Happy Birthday to the best guy around!!

We love you Robert!

Spencer had his first soccer game of the season on Sunday! Robert is the coach again and they decided to be the Tornadoes! I thought the Hurricanes would have been more appropriate but…Tornadoes it is! π
Our player was ready to go…

and had his two best cheerleaders there as well!

Spencer was super excited about playing this season again. He got all warmed up…

and hustled so hard during the game! He had at least two goals and honestly played great!

Samantha also did great actually sitting in her chair the entire time and not running on the field! Obviously, snacks helped. Hooray!

She kept giving Spence and the other players an encouraging thumbs up!

Maxwell is loving Spencer’s new team because Robby is on it – which means Max is there to play with Maxwell! These guys were over playing football for the whole soccer game!

He did finally come back to watch the very end of the game. My three cuties on the sideline…

Goooo Tornadoes!

Go Spencey go! I think it’s going to be a GREAT soccer season!

See you tomorrow!

Maxwell had his birthday party last Friday at Urban Air and it was all AL football themed! No surprise there!

We, of course, went all out with the AL theme and dressed accordingly! Maxwell even got a new Derrick Henry jersey for the party!

He had tons of buddies there and everyone loved running, jumping, playing dodgeball, being ninja warriors, and everything else you can do at Urban Air.

We even had eye black for everyone! Gotta look the part…

So tough!

Samantha had a blast just running around on her own. That girl never slowed down!

Maxwell requested a football field cake so we had just that! We added some of our own AL players to it and it turned out great.

I love this “I’m trying not to smile but I really want to smile” face!

Happy Birthday Maxwell!

I love celebrating this awesome SEVEN year old!!!

See you tomorrow!

Happy Monday! Phew…it was a busy and FUN weekend! and it’s going to be a busy and FUN week because Maxwell starts school tomorrow! Lots to catch up on but I first have to reassure you all that while Maxwell and I were gallivanting all over New York City, the crew back home wasn’t suffering one bit! Robert did what was necessary to survive on Friday night…

and then went down to Montgomery on Saturday to get a little help!

There was even cake and ice cream! Happy birthday Lulu and Granddaddy!!

Sure, there might have been cake pops for breakfast…

and Samantha’s dress might have been on backwards…

but they made it just fine! I don’t think they missed us one bit! By Monday morning we were all happy to be back together though…

and I might have even let them get a cake pop for breakfast that morning too! π

See you tomorrow!
