Last year Maxwell did Jump Rope for Heart at school, this year it was Dance for Heart! Michael Jackson style!
Susan and the kids and I went to watch and it was fun. Samantha loved it…
Spence wasn’t quite as impressed! ha!
We all even got to participate in the different dance stations…

We celebrated Samantha’s 3rd party last weekend with a party at the place where she does dance. It wasn’t just any party though, it was a mermaid party!
The whole thing was about as cute as it gets. The girls in tutus, the Little Mermaid music playing on the piano, Samantha twirling and twirling and twirling! It was all of my little girl dreams…ummm, I mean Samantha’s little girl dreams come true! 🙂
All of her favorite people came…
Including 9 other little girls and a few big brothers who proved to be very well behaved and helpful, especially with the parachute!
The girls danced and galloped and skipped and jumped and hopped and walked on their tippy toes!
I had one very happy little birthday girl!
Especially when it was time for cake!

Samantha sure did have a happy day on Saturday – her 3rd birthday – and the celebrations continued all weekend long! The day stared with lots of balloons and a pink doughnut with candles…
She even got to go to Maxwell’s basketball game! ha!
She got to pick lunch (Chick-Fil-A) and we all enjoyed her fantastic mermaid cake!
That night there were presents including lots of new pjs and a car seat of her baby doll!
and maybe a little more cake for the birthday girl! 🙂
The next day everyone got to go to Disney on Ice to continue the celebrations! I think it was a hit…especially the popcorn, cotton candy, and sno-cones they got to have!
Samantha was cracking me up during the show. When the witch from Snow White came out Samantha said “Why is her grandma so mad??”. When the skaters would spin she’d say “Whoa! He’s getting dizzy!” When Ariel and Sebastian came out without Flounder she was VERY concerned and I probably heard “Where IS FLOUNDER?!” about 10 times! Frozen was definitely her favorite part but, again, she was very concerned that Sven was not there! She also kept saying that she thought we were going to be skating…ha! Maybe another time baby girl!
A wonderful celebration for a wonderful 3 year old!

How about a little belated Roll Tide! We all enjoyed the totally crazy, totally stressful, but ultimately awesome National Championship game! Even though Robert had a ticket to go to the game in Atlanta, he chose to stay home and watch it with his favorite Bama fans (work might have played a role in that decision too but, we’ll just pretend he wanted to watch it with us!). Our cheerleader was ready…
and so were our football players!
Robert totally enjoys all the distractions when he watches the game! 🙂
The first half of the game didn’t go as we hoped and, by the second half we were upstairs feeling pretty low. But, the 4th quarter turned things around! Maxwell tried to hard to make it to the end but he couldn’t quite last…
Spencer did though! He was jumping up and down with me and Robert when they scored that overtime touchdown! He was pretty excited to wear his jersey to school the next morning…
