Happy Monday! Back to our Naples trip – our last day in Naples was New Year’s Eve and we spent most of it on the beach!
Everyone relaxed…

Played in the sand…

And of course there was football!

The kids also discovered that, not only could you get strawberry smoothies at the bar, but chocolate milkshakes too! Score!

No better way to end 2017, that’s for sure.
Our trip to Naples was fantastic…

but sadly had to come to an end on the first day of 2018. We said goodbye to our favorites…

and made the journey home!

We got back in plenty of time to watch the Sugar Bowl. RTR! I’d say it was a perfect end to 2017 and a great start to 2018!

Robert planned a fishing trip for the boys while we were down in Naples.

Everyone was hoping for a good catch like last time, but, it was just too cold for the fish! The boys tried…

and had some snacks…

but the only thing they caught that afternoon was some ice cream!

It’s never too cold for ice cream!
We all ended up back at the beach late that afternoon and it was just about perfect!

Doesn’t get much better than that!
While the weather wasn’t as warm as we might have liked, it was still sunny enough in the afternoons to make a trip to the beach possible!

The cooler temps didn’t bother these beach babies!

The week after Christmas is probably the busiest week on the beach down there. Combine that with the fact that the beach club and pool are under construction and you had one packed strip of sand! It didn’t bother the kids though. If anything, they liked having more kids out there to play with!

Of course there was football on the beach! Pretty much all the boys did!

Cutest buns on the beach!

They also had a full bar set up on the beach and the kids discovered they had smoothies…happy campers all around!

Somebody LOVES the beach!

We all love Naples!

See you tomorrow!

After a wonderful December 25th, I spent December 26th putting away every bit of inside Christmas decor so we could be ready to escape the cold on December 27th! Thanks to GJ and Daddo, we jetted out of the freezing weather in style…

They checked out every inch of the plane…

and found all the good snacks!

We sure were happy to land in 75 degree weather!

The next morning it was definitely too chilly for the beach and the non-heated pool…well, too chilly for sane people! Maxwell decided to take a polar plunge! He’s crazy…Spencer and Samantha ended up getting in about to their waist too. Crazy all around.

While we might not have made it to the beach each day, we still had plenty to do…like ride scooters and climb on this awesome tree we found that had a rope swing!

and there was football, of course. Lots and lots of football!

Beach or not, we always love being in Naples!

That said, there was some beach…and fishing! More to come!
