Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. We did! On Saturday we went to the Habitat for Humanity BBQ. As I mentioned on Friday, Robert is on the board so he was up there from about 7:30 to 3:30 – a long day for him. Maxwell and I just stopped by for a couple of hours but we had plenty of fun dancing to the band and trying some great bbq.
Maxwell was busy checking out the band and bopping to the beat most of the time!
He even let me spin him around for a song or two!
The food was fantastic. My personal favorite (and the People’s Choice Winner that day!) was the BBQ Sundae. Such a fun idea – they put beans, bbq pork, and cole slaw all in a cup with a cherry tomato on top! Just like a savory sundae! Yum!
Of course my picky little eater couldn’t be talked into trying the great food so what did he eat at the bbq? an almond butter sandwich of course!
There was lots of fun to be had, not least of which was playing with a glove balloon!
There was also a bounce house and Maxwell REALLY wanted to get in, but there were just too many big kids in there to make it safe. Luckily he seemed to have just as much watching them bounce around from the outside!
There was also a face painting booth with some seriously professional face painting going on! All I could think about though was all that face paint on his sheets when he got home for his nap so we skipped it! Gotta save something for next year, right?
It was a great day for a great cause!
See you tomorrow!
ps – Maxwell is 20 months old today! time flies!
