Maxwell turned 11 months old on Saturday. I love the happy, funny, and sweet little boy that he’s turning into. He talks and babbles all. day. long. His belly laughs slay me. He’s crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. We’re starting to (try to) teach him the word no when he gets into cords, drawers and other things he shouldn’t. He’s even walking while holding onto our hands or pushing his toys across the room. He’s busy busy busy all day long.
Eating is an adventure. He’s starting to experiment with more and more finger foods – puffs, yogurt, melts, blueberries and other fruit, Cheerios – but still loves the baby food. I’ve been trying to get him to try new things – meat, other veggies, beans – and it hasn’t gone so well. I just want him to be a great eater and love all kinds of food so we’ll keep offering him different things to taste. I’m sure he’ll come around eventually! He’s doing great with his formula bottles now. He takes a 7 to 8 oz bottle 3 times a day – 7am, 11:30am and 6:15pm. Bedtime is still 7:00pm and he sleeps until around 6:30am. We’re still on a 2 nap a day schedule and he does fantastic with them. His first nap is at 9:00 and his afternoon nap starts sometime between 1:00 and 2:00. He’ll sleep anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours for each nap.
A few other things I want to remember:
- Nanner, his paci monkey, is his very favorite thing in the world and he can’t wait to see him during nap and night time.
- He babbles constantly – often making Da Da Da sounds which makes Robert very happy! – and also hums a lot.
- He loves playing with his trucks, opening and closing his laptop, eating the beads on the Zany Zoo and knocking down block towers.
- Stroller rides are also a favorite and he loves to sit forward in his seat holding on to the bar so he can see as much as possible around town.
- He loves to fall backward on the bed or the couch…or get one of us to (gently) throw him down on his back. Giggles everytime guaranteed!
Maxwell just makes every day a happy one. It’s impossible to be in a bad mood when you see this smiling face every day!
Even when he’s not smiling he still makes me happy!
Maxwell does make many funny faces…
But he also makes the best smiley faces ever!
Something that didn’t make him (or me) smile? About half a second after this picture…
Maxwell fell forward off the chair and face planted on the rug. After tears, screams and lots of hugs from Momma, Maxwell recovered and decided that the photo shoot must go on. He still had to pose with Little Al after all!
Now Little Al, don’t lean forward in this chair because you might fall out and, lemme tell ya, it hurts to fall on your face.
The best thing to do is just sit back, cross your ankles and smile.
And you can make a silly face too…Momma likes that!
It’s never dull around our house, that’s for sure! He’s a few more pictures to round it all out…
Happy 11 months Maxwell. You just keep getting better. We love you!!
