The Big Day

September 2, 2010

Robert and I got up to head to a doctor appointment on Monday morning, August 30 – one day past my due date.  However, when my water broke at 7:15 am, we knew we would be heading to the hospital instead of the doctor!  Here’s how the MOST EXCITING DAY of our lives all went down…

Ready to head to the hospital and have a baby!

Had to stop and get some breakfast first because there would be no more food for me all day!

After also stopping at Starbucks for Robert, going back to the house to double check that we locked the front door (we did), we finally arrived at the hospital and I got all hooked up to all kinds of monitors and IV’s and got to wear several lovely bracelets…

By 9:00 am, I was definitely in labor.  The epidural came late morning and that’s when things were nice…

The next several hours I just rested until it was “Go” time at 5:15.  Maxwell was born at 5:48 so he didn’t take too long to make his entrance.  It was just such a great day and we were so excited to meet our baby boy!!

Just a few minutes old…

All of his stats…

Proud Dad!!  Notice the time on the clock.  Maxwell is only 20 minutes old!

Very proud mom!

Adorable Maxwell Banks Brown!

Happy family of three…

Robert’s parents, Lou Lou and Granddaddy were there to see him right after he was born.

And my parents, GJ and Daddo, made it to the hospital just about an hour later after the fastest drive from Florida they’ve ever made!

A day we will never forget!

Would love to hear from you! 6 Comments

Steph, I just had to comment on how AMAZING and at ease you look mere minutes after going through labor and giving birth to precious Maxwell. It’s down right inspiring!

Congratulations to you and Robert! Can’t wait to meet Maxwell!

YEAH! Pictures!! What a beautiful baby boy for such a beautiful family. I am glad the day went as smoothly as could be expected. I can’t wait to meet the little man soon. Let me know when you are up for visitors–I won’t bring GG for fear of spreading germs.

We did come as fast as we could – only making 2 stops and made it in a little under 11 hours – but it’s definitely okay that you didn’t wait for our arrival! How special our family is with a beautiful granddaughter and now a precious little grandson – life is good!

I’m glad you had the presence of mind to take photos throughout the day – we didn’t think of that at all 🙂
