Summer Vacay

July 8, 2014

Like last year, we spent the 4th down in Naples but this year we stayed a whole week. It really is so nice to get away for a full week instead of just a long weekend. We did plenty of laying around and more than plenty of eating good food!  The boys loved being at GJ and Daddo’s house and Robert and I loved having GJ and Daddo around to help entertain them!  🙂

We flew down last Saturday morning…but not before discovering late Friday night that our water heater was leaking! Oh no! Well, really more like “thank goodness” because had we not discovered it before we left, we would have come home to a potential disaster a week later! We put in a Friday night call to our good plumber Bubba and he actually came over and replaced our water heater while we were out of town! Yep, our plumber’s name is Bubba and, yep, we trust him enough to leave him a key!  go Bubba!

Water heater problem solved, we got up early Saturday and headed to the airport. The boys did great on the flight down…

and were very happy to see this lady when we got there!

The boys wasted no time going straight to their favorite toys…

There were a few new things to check out too, like this table my mom had set up for the kids. It still had Delaney’s tea party set on it from last week and Maxwell thought a tea party was a great idea!

We ended up having a tea party just about every day…and each day with a new tea party treat! The first day it was popsicles! (the “dripless” kind made with jell-o and kool-aid like I always ate growing up!)

And there was, of course, tea water!

The next morning, the boys had a good breakfast (they just made me laugh all week sitting at this little table together)…

and then we headed to the beach!

Maxwell tried to dig to China…

but then decided that was a lot of work and the hole was more fun to sit in…

and then get buried in!

Spencey thought it was pretty funny when Maxwell couldn’t fight back!  🙂

Cute boys.

They both loved the beach and we probably spent more time in the ocean than we did in the sand! They both loved being out in the waves in our arms. Of course, we probably spent more time in the pool than the ocean and sand combined.  But, that’s ok because they love the pool and Maxwell did SO great on his swimming all week that we were happy to oblige!

More pics tomorrow!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments

So much fun having all of you here and hearing the conversations and giggles of the little ones! House is way too quiet this week!
