Friday Favorite

Today’s Friday Favorite is our local library. It’s a fantastic library only 3 minutes from our house with so many great programs for kids…even ones Maxwell’s age! There’s something going on up there almost every day that Susan can take him too and they have the best time. His favorite thing so far has been Patty Cake Time. They sing songs, read books and do silly little dances. It’s every Thursday and only for ages 1 and under. Since they are taking a little summer break, yesterday was Maxwell’s last time to be able to go to Patty Cake Time. When they come back in the fall he’ll go to Mother Goose Time with the big kids! 🙂

I joined them a the library for a few minutes to see his big graduation from Patty Cake Time…they even sang Happy Birthday to him!

Maxwell’s favorite part are definitely the egg shakers!

The theme of the library this summer has been “One World, Many Stories” and Maxwell even got his very own reading passport.

So far, by reading books with Susan, he’s gotten 4 stamps in his passport – Switzerland, Malaysia, India and Hawaii (really glad he had his passport for Hawaii!). I’m so glad Maxwell has the opportunity to spend time at the library. Hopefully it will grow into a love of books! One thing I do know he loves…those egg shakers! 🙂

In the yard

Maxwell and I spent some quality time outside this week playing with his truck and laughing…

He didn’t think all my jokes were laugh-worthy though.

He did enjoy crawling around on the super soft, super thick grass. I’m so grateful we have such a great lawn boy (aka Dad) to keep it beautiful.

After the crawling was done, Maxwell sat for a minute to stretch his leg…

and noticed my camera…

and then came…

for me!

I was tackled…and I loved it!

Lifesaver

Before we went to the lake last weekend I got Maxwell a life jacket…safety first! I was hoping to get some cute pics of him floating in the water while wearing it. But, we all know what happened at the lake! I did take 2 pics on my phone though when it came in the mail…

He couldn’t really move in it but it sure was funny to watch him try!

In other news, Maxwell got to hang by the pool yesterday sipping a cool drink…

He’s got such a rough life.

Strawberry Shortcake, Huckleberry Pie

We have tons of great fruit in the house right now thanks to the awesome Edible Bouquet that Andee, Steve and Ellis sent me. I’ve been using it as a good opportunity to try giving Maxwell more and more solid fruits. While he had some strawberries on the 4th of July, he liked them much better this time around….

I didn’t share the chocolate covered ones with him though. Those were all mine! 🙂

Weekend roundup

We had a great, restful weekend around here. Big events included a trip to Sam’s, yardwork (for Robert, not me), and going to bed at 9:00. The excitement is overwhelming I know. Maxwell did take this opportunity to show us who’s boss when it comes to taking a bottle. Geez Louise. I didn’t know how good I had it not having to give this kid a bottle before. He definitely won’t drink it until he’s ready and, even then, it’s sipping in between his busy play schedule. Getting 21 oz. of formula in him a day might do me in…

Speaking of formula, we did discover a new aisle at Sam’s on Saturday…

Gotta love buying in bulk!

I did pull my camera out this weekend. I had missed it last week. Here’s Maxwell exploring every inch of the house…I think he’s going a little stir crazy too!
