Friday Favorite

As I mentioned yesterday, one of Maxwell’s favorite things right now is books. One of his other favorite things is trucks. It should be no surprise that his favorite book right now is a book called Trucks.

It has these great little slides on each page that Maxwell can move to see a new picture underneath.

And because it’s a board book, it’s pretty indestructible…despite Maxwell’s best effort.

You can get it on Amazon here…of course. What can’t you get on Amazon?! There are several other Slide and Find books. We also have Words and it’s neat too.

Storytime

Maxwell is really interested in looking at books lately. He’ll actually sit still and let us read a whole (short) book to him. We usually make it through the story once before he wants to pick up the book and eat it. 🙂

Know who else has a great dad? Robert does! Today also happens to be Robert’s Dad’s birthday!! Happy birthday Granddad!

Favorite

Maxwell clearly has favorites around here….and right now I’m not one of them. Robert and Susan are high on the list. I try not to get my feelings hurt when I reach for him and he turns his little face into either Robert or Susan’s shoulder. I try to convince myself that being a working mom isn’t causing this. I try to remember this is just a phase. It is just a phase, right?

I know I’m his momma and he will always love me…but I’m just ready for him to show me a little love. a hug? a “ma ma”? anything? I’m not asking for much….just to be his absolute favorite person in the world. that’s all.

To make me feel better, here are some pics I took last week of me with my favorite buddy (even though the feeling may not be mutual right now!)

Happy Monday! Our weekend was very un-exciting and productive….love that. We did take advantage of the Tax Free Weekend and got Maxwell his first pair of real shoes! I’ve already shown you my love of footwear and so it wasn’t hard to convince me that Maxwell needed some real shoes for “school” in the fall. (school = mother’s day out 1 day a week). We got to the shoe store and, after measuring his foot, learned that our little buddy has quite a fat little foot! His foot measured a 3.5 wide!
