Buttball in the backyard

Sunday was a beautiful fall day.  The kind of day where you simply HAVE to play outside, especially if you’re 2…or 36!  🙂  Robert and Maxwell ended up in the backyard throwing around the football – which totally sounds like “buttball” when Maxwell says it!  Yea, it’s pretty funny to hear him ask to watch “buttball” all weekend!  🙂  Anyway, they played, I snapped (and Robert snapped some too!) and got some great photos.  Tons of pictures below so I’ll just let them tell the story…

Future quarterback?  We’ll see!

1 month old!

I cannot believe Spencer is 1 month old!  He has been such a sweet baby and we are totally in love.  Sure, he can cry with the best of babies, but we can always get him calmed down pretty quickly.  He really only cries when he’s hungry…or needs to poop!  🙂  He’s eating every 3 hours like a clock during the day.  At night, he has gone some 4 and 5 hour stretches which is really nice.  He seems to sleep best when he’s laying on me or in my arms so that’s where he spends most of the night.  If he’s not there, he’s propped up on the boppy right beside me.  I can’t help but spoil him a little like that!  🙂

I actually left him for the first time on Friday and Susan watched both boys for a few hours.  Thankfully everything went great and Spencer even took a bottle with absolutely no issue at all!  Go Spencer!

We’re so ready for the holiday this weekend and can’t wait for so much of the family to meet our new baby boy!

Being 1 month old means one very important thing around here – monthly photo shoot!  You can see all the pics I took of Maxwell here.  I debated about whether to use the same chair for Spencer or find a different one.  I really want to use the other green chair we have so the pictures will match but not be exactly the same.  Unfortunately, this chair isn’t quite as padded as the one I used for Maxwell’s photos so not sure how that will work out with a baby that can’t sit up!  We got some cute ones this month with no injuries but I also took some in the other chair in case I change my mind next month!

I think they look a little similar but not too much alike.

Spencer was a pretty good – albeit slightly somber – model…

But then he started to get a little pouty…

and then really upset!

I think he was just lonely though.  As soon as I brought out his bear friend, he was in much better spirits!

Friday woohoo!

Friday!  I’m so ready for the weekend!  Hard to believe Spencer will be one month old on Sunday.  Gotta gear up for the monthly photo shoots again!  Should I do them in the same green chair that I did Maxwell’s in?  or find another chair?  hmmm…decisions decisions!

Today it’s time to clean off the ole iPhone.  Here’s some snaps from the past 3.5 weeks…

Farm Adventure

Last week, Susan took Maxwell to Springville, AL for a day of fun.  There is a farm up there that has a great pumkin patch around Halloween, but they do neat stuff there year round I think.  All I know is Susan and Maxwell had a blast!

Fire engine threads

I love this little outfit that Spencer has with the firetruck on it.  Such a pretty baby blue with such a cute fire engine!   Perfect for my sweet little boy!

He wasn’t exactly giving me good facial expressions while snapping these pics – I think he was barely awake!  I can report though that this kid definitely has at least one dimple on the right side.  Both Robert and I have seen it!  Hopefully we’ll start getting some serious smiles soon so we can see if he’s got a double dose or not!

I also can’t wait to see what color Spencer’s eyes end up.  I know all babies start with blue eyes but I think Spencer’s are lighter than Maxwell’s ever were, even in the first few weeks.  Maybe that means Spencer’s will stay blue?  or maybe I’ll end up with two brown eyed baby boys!  We’ll see!
