Bahama Breeze

February 21, 2018

As I mentioned last month, Robert and I celebrated 10 years of marriage in January! To celebrate he surprised me with a trip to the Bahamas – woohoo! The weather gods tried to keep us from our fun by bringing some ice to Birmingham and Atlanta but we didn’t let that stop us. After too many cancellations by Delta, we ended up driving over to Atlanta Wednesday night in order to be there to catch our flight on Thursday. We were in the Bahamas by lunchtime that day!

We stayed at The Ocean Club in Paradise Island and it was beautiful. Truly beautiful – the hotel, the grounds, the art – all of it was just perfect.

The weather was slightly on the chilly side so no swimming but plenty of lying in the sun with a good book. We also visited the spa and ate lots of good food. Not much more I could ask for! At times, I even got a little more than I could ask for thanks to our room butlers…

haha! We did not expect that in our room Saturday afternoon!

We had dinner in Nassau the first night at Cafe Matisse and it was excellent. On the night of our anniversary we ate at Dune at the hotel and it was fantastic.

On Saturday night we took a car over to the Atlantis to explore and check out the fish…

and let Robert play craps while I did some really good people watching!

We had a great dinner at Nobu too.

Overall the trip was better than we had hoped – relaxing and fun and wonderful! And when you’re traveling alone you get to take lots of selfies! Robert loved that.  🙂

Meanwhile, back on the home front, GJ and Daddo were so nicely holding down the fort…with a little help from Susan too!

I’m so grateful for the time away with my favorite husband! 🙂 The sun, the sand, and the time alone were the best way to ring in another decade!

I love you Robert! Thank you for the wonderful celebration!! Where are we going for 20?!

Candy and Treats

February 16, 2018

Apparently that’s what Valentine’s Day is all about – candy and treats! My kids sure did LOVE it! Their Valentines for their friends this year…

Obviously Maxwell and Spencer made theirs and I think they turned out great. Love Spencer’s “Alabama A”! 🙂 For my memory, I also did Target cards for the teachers.

I was the party mom for all 3 classes so did goody bags with squishies inside! I think they were a big hit all around. Samantha had her party at school on Tuesday and got to go to gymnastics on Valentines Day!

Valentine Art Show

February 15, 2018

Like last year, Spencer had a Valentine Art Show up at school for grandparents to attend. Thankfully Lulu and Granddaddy were able to make the trip up to see him sing and check out his fantastic art! My cuties looking cute that morning…

We got there nice and early to get a good seat (no surprise!) and enjoyed checking out the art!
