Just a few more pics from Sunday lunch because they’re cute…

Gosh I love these kids!!

Cute all around!
We started Maxwell’s birthday with his traditional cinnamon roll birthday breakfast! 10!!

Then it was present time! From us and GJ and Daddo he got lots of Vbucks, a survival bracelet, new football gloves, a Ferrari hat, an account at Gilchrist, and a homemade sign from Samantha…

lucky kid! We then had lunch up at the club with Lulu and Granddaddy…

That night we finished up the celebration with Mexico Lindo and ice cream cake!

Ten is looking good for this guy!!!

We love Maxwell!
It’s good to be TEN and get to celebrate your birthday all weekend long! We organized a pool party on Friday night and had all of our member friends get a reservation for a fun night of swimming and cupcakes. When we woke up on Friday it was raining – just that soggy, all day, dreary rain – and the forecast did not look good for that night. But, luck was on our side and the front moved through and we ended up having the perfect night for the pool! Hooray!

We even got a rainbow!

Unfortunately, this is 2020 and things just don’t seem to be going right this year. As soon as we got to the pool, Maxwell said he could feel a headache coming on. He kept insisting he was fine but I could see in his eyes that he was not fine. I found him some advil and got some caffeine in him but, as the migraines tend to do, he got sick…in the towel bin. Poor, poor kid. As often happens with his migraines, after he threw up, he felt so much better so we stayed, he got some ice cream, and was able to swim. Unfortunately, we had to cancel his much anticipated sleepover with his friend, Max, that night. I knew he was going to need a good night’s sleep so we decided it was best to reschedule that. He was so disappointed but took it in stride. I sure do love this kid.

On Saturday night, he got to have a few friends over to play Fortnite and eat Shake Shack. But, again, because it’s 2020, things didn’t quite work out the way he hoped and one of his best buddies had to cancel at the last minute because of a runny nose. Everyone is (understandably) being super cautious these days and it was the right thing to do but, again, it meant disappointment for my birthday boy. He once again took it in stride. This is the only pic I got from that night…ha!

Overall it was a fun weekend that was *almost* just as we had planned. There was more celebrating on Sunday and will share tomorrow!
On Sunday Maxwell will be TEN! A whole decade! Two whole hands!
Just born…

One year old…

Two years old…

Three years old…

Four years old…

Five years old…

Six years old…

Seven years old…

Eight years old…

Nine years old…

and now TEN!!!

Maxwell is so easy to celebrate. He’s such a good kid. I’ve said it all before but he’s a curious listener and so aware of the world around him. He’s constantly taking it all in. He wants to please but he’s also pretty confident in what he likes and what he doesn’t. He’s not going to do something he doesn’t want to do just because someone else wants him to. He makes me so proud. He has so much potential to do big things (we just need to get him to really apply himself and live up to that full potential!). I can’t wait to see what he does in life. I am forever grateful that I get to be his momma and watch him grow up.

He’s really into playing Fortnite right now (and talking about it all. day. long.)! When he’s not on the Nintendo, he’s happiest outside with some sort of ball in his hands. Football, golf, basketball, even tennis! He’s developed a group of buddies and is a loyal friend. He and Spencer bicker and fight but they also play together and stick up for each other. Maxwell still thinks Samantha is the best thing around. He’s the best big brother and I’m so glad they all have each other to go through life with…even if he doesn’t like posing for my pictures! ha!

I do love it when I get a little exasperated laugh though!

Not only did Samantha start kindergarten on Thursday of last week, but she also went to her first dance class at a new place! She is so excited about dance this year because she is with some of her best buddies, Violet and Julia, and she gets to do ballet…

jazz…

and tap!! woohoo! I’m really excited for her to do tap!

She’s also taking hip hop which they do in tennis shoes. I asked her how they dance in hip hop and she said you “shake your booty!” Ha!
When you have that many dance shoes, you need a cute bag to carry them all in. We’ve got that!

She also has to have a yoga mat. Can you tell what her favorite color is?! 💜

Looking forward to a fun year for my tiny dancer!
