TGIF oh TGIF!

November 9, 2012

Ya’ll…thank GOODNESS it’s Friday.  Not that the weekend is that much different than the weekdays for me while I’m not working but I’ll have Robert home to help for two days and that’s awesome.  This week has been….challenging.  Spencer is definitely asserting himself more and isn’t quite that easy, sleepy newborn we had the first two weeks.  That said, when it comes to newborns, he’s still pretty good and we can’t complain.  Maxwell on the other hand?…oh Maxwell.  He has been another story.  I’m not sure what’s going on with him (jealousy? major attachment to me?) but he’s been a terrible sleeper this week.  Terrible.  Naps have consisted of him screaming and wailing in his bed for over an hour.  I don’t know what to do because I can’t sit in there and rock him because Spencer needs me.  He’s SO tired and needs the sleep but just starts crying as soon as I walk out the door.  Nighttime isn’t going that much better and he’s wailed for over an hour the past 3 nights before finally giving in to sleep.  He’s always been SUCH a good sleeper and gone to bed with no problems – I have no idea where this is all coming from.  I just hope it’s a phase and we can get through it because I am one tired Momma and my nerves are shot from all the screaming.

Still, regardless of how hard this week has been I do love, love, love these boys…

and, yes, Spencer is in a monkey outfit.  It was a cold morning and the fleece monkey costume was warm! 🙂

Here’s to a great and RESTFUL weekend ahead!

Would love to hear from you! 5 Comments

I’m sorry. I remember it getting better and then worse and then better again. Maybe this weekend Robert or you can spend some one on one time with M before his nap or bedtime. Hopefully thats all he’ll need? I’m sorry. I remember how you are feeling. Hope this weekend finds you more sleep and rest. It will get better.

I hate rough weeks. I am hopefully at the end of one too. At least the boys are so cute that you won’t be able to remember how cranky they were!

Restful being the key word. I was told to get some coffee this morning from my coworkers. Guess my “luggage” tells the story. Have a great weekend everyone.

Chin up! I don’t have any good parenting advice, but I did miss out on a lot of sleep during grad school so know that can’t help make anything easier. At least they are both adorable, and thankfully they have you there to love on them and hug them when they need it! (so many kids don’t have awesome parents like you two – lucky little guys!)
