I’ve always been a pretty active person and I’ve tried to stay one throughout the pregnancy. It’s gone pretty well and has definitely given me more energy! The last trimester I’ve narrowed it down to 3 activities – walking, strength training and water aerobics. Yes, water aerobics…you can make fun but it’s awesome! You can’t imagine how nice it feels to get into a pool twice a week!
Here’s a pic of part of the water aerobics class. It’s just for pregnant ladies and the conversations that go on in the pool are pretty funny…and usually revolve around food! I wish the instructor, Helen, was in the photo. She’s 65 years old, REALLY into line dancing, and hilarious! It’s also much more of a workout than you’d think…although somehow we all manage to avoid getting our hair wet each week!
I also workout twice a week with a trainer, Toots (as in Tootsie, not as in boots!). Toots Rocks. She’s from Liverpool, used to play tennis at UAB and is just the kind of personality you want to see at 7am in the morning! I was working out with her for about a year before I got pregnant and she’s been totally game to help me keep pumping the weights right up to the end! I swear sometimes these workouts are the only things that have kept me sane many weeks!
Toots also always has on all the coolest tennis shoes….love these!
I’ve tried to keep walking lots as well…but the never ending string of days with temps well over 100 degrees has been making that very hard the past month! Can’t wait for cooler fall weather when I get to take BBB on a walk with me!

So proud of you – all of this activity will make the delivery and recovery much easier. Love seeing the pictures of Toots and your water aerobics class – still would like to see the instructor! It’s getting close to time to meet BBB!!!!!

Steph, I agree with your Mama. Staying in such good physical shape will be invaluable during and after your birth. You’re going to do great. So excited for you.
Love,
Nancy

As someone who is currently knocked up…I would KILL for your motivation. I have worked out a whopping total of zero times. I was trying to walk with Audrey a mile or two everyday but it’s been raining so that is out. You’ve inspired me to get my rear to a gym and start working out again. You look so fantastic, it’s a no brainer!

you’re sweet Abby. I’m sure it’s a totally different ballgame with #2! You’ll look great regardless…especially with that sweet little Audrey by your side! 🙂
