As I mentioned around Maxwell’s birthday, he’s become a Lego maniac! All he wanted for his birthday was Legos, Legos, Legos! I think they’re fantastic for him – they allow him to be super focused on something and teach him how to follow instructions too.
The biggest thing he wanted for his birthday was the Lego City Fire Station. It’s for 6 to 12 year olds but Maxwell, one week before he turned 5, put the whole thing together by himself in 2 days! I was SUPER impressed! We rarely help him at all – only if he has a question here or there or needs help putting a sticker on straight! 🙂
As soon as he builds something, he takes it up to his room to put on top of his chest so Spencey can’t reach it! 🙂 He’s building quite a Lego city up there!
While he definitely likes to build the sets as they are supposed to be built, he does have a few sets that he’s actually taken apart to use the pieces to build his own thing. That actually kind of surprised me! I thought he’d want to leave them all together the way they are “supposed” to be. I’m so proud of all the creative things he’s built. He sure has fun with it all! He’ll even help Spencey with his Duplos now and then…
But, to Maxwell, Duplos are “baby Legos!” ha! He only wants the real deal big boy ones for himself!
Now if I could just find a way to store all these Legos!!
Happy weekend!
Maxwell is amazing at the way he follows the directions and builds all of his Lego sets – not surprising but still amazing!
Way to go smarty pants!
