In the last two weeks of school Maxwell came home one day saying he had won a leadership award. I was obviously very proud but assumed it was something in just his class. The I got two texts from other moms congratulating Maxwell on his big recognition! huh?! So, I emailed this teacher and found out that he had won the Lancer Leader award! Any teacher or student can nominate someone and then there is a group of 6th graders that review all of the applications and select the winners. As Mrs. Liddle said, “I nominated him but most of the school knows how special he is!” Have you ever heard anything better?! I clearly think he’s the most special of all but I love hearing that others think so too! 🙂
During the ceremony he was asked to announce the service project for first grade and Mrs. Liddle got this pic…
and then he won the Lancer Leader award! He was the only first grader that got it. There isn’t necessarily one per grade – in fact, the librarian told me that not every grade had a Lancer Leader this year. Such an awesome accomplishment for Maxwell!!
I’m so so proud of my Lancer Leader!

Well done Maxwell. Although we’re always proud of you, it’s good to see others feel the same way!
