Being a Tiger Scout, Maxwell got to participate in the Pinewood Derby for his troop.
He and Robert worked hard on the car – Maxwell painted every bit of it! He even free-handed that Alabama A on top and the numbers on the side!
We went to the derby on Tuesday night and it was great! They have a fancy digital track and it really was fun for the whole family. There were some pretty impressive looking cars too! The boys were pretty proud when they got their car weighed – it has to be 5 oz or less and Maxwell’s car “The Crimson Tide” weighed in at exactly 5 oz! Score!
After dinner and plenty of goofing around by the scouts, the races started.
We were pretty excited when Maxwell won his first heat!
Even more excited when he won his second heat!
He lost his third heat – but pretty funny that he lost it to The Auburn Attacker! ha!
Everyone had fun and behaved so nicely – especially these two…
When it came time for awards, wouldn’t you know it – Maxwell won first place for the Tiger Scouts! Woohoo!!
I don’t know who was more proud – Maxwell or Robert (or maybe Daddo! ha!)
Can’t wait to do it again next year!
Go Speed Racer, go Speed Racer, go Speed Racer goooo!
Daddo has passed the baton on to Robert! Great fun for father and son! So exciting and love Maxwell’s creative artwork on his car!
Vroom, vroom!
That’s a mighty fine looking car! Congratulations Maxwell!
