Maxwell played on the 7th grade football team at the Junior High and what a great experience it was for him.
It was a long season of hard work, frustration, perseverance, and payoff! They started practice last summer in the hot, hot June and July days. They continued every single day after school. Maxwell worked his tail off – and sweated his tail off too! He earned the respect of his coaches and teammates.
The team only won one game – but it wasn’t about winning. It was about learning how to be a Spartan!
Maxwell does appreciate some good eye black!
Of course I was there for every game in my colors with my fellow Spartan fans!
Some of the matchups were pretty funny – this game with Maxwell facing off with a kid who was legitimately 6’5 was interesting to watch! ha!
Maxwell started the season as second string corner back – had a frustrating middle of the season bump down to 3rd string – but then ended the final games as first string!! He even got an interception in the last game of the season. Fantastic!! Love these pics of the celebration after the interception!
I am incredibly proud of his dedication and how he just kept putting in the work. It all paid off for him and I can’t wait to continue to watch him play football for years to come!
Way to play #42! A great season all around!
