In previous years we’ve gone to a big egg hunt outside of Montgomery on the Saturday before Easter. This year, Maxwell had a baseball game so we weren’t able to go. It worked out though because we were able to get together with a few of our neighbors for a fun egg hunt!

It was 5 families and 13 kids! with another on the way! The Easter Bunny himself even made an appearance…

12 of the 13…Samantha wouldn’t go near the bunny!

The kids dyed eggs while the dads hid plastic eggs in the front yard and across the street at the school.

When it was time for the hunt, the dads gave the explanation and then they were off!

The “little kids” hunted in the front yard while the “big kids” went across the street to the school where there were a TON of eggs hidden all over, including two big golden eggs I had brought that each had $10 in them! After a few minutes, the kids found all of the regular eggs but no one had found either of the golden eggs! After a few hints and maybe a few elbows thrown, the prize eggs were found. Ginny Grace found one and Sara Francis snagged the other…

Maxwell was already not feeling great from allergies at the ball park, combine that with a scrape on his leg and not finding the golden egg and we had one unhappy camper. Spencer made up for it by being super happy about all the jelly beans he was getting to eat! ha!

We ended up all ordering pizza and keeping the kids up too late but it was totally worth it. It was such a fun night and made me so excited about our “new” neighborhood!
Just like growing up in Hickory Hills – lots of kids around the same age! Fun times!
I would be afraid if I ran into a bunny that large.
Awesome night!
