Dinner with Mickey

June 13, 2013

After a full morning in the Magic Kingdom, we headed back to the hotel for lunch and “nap”.  Spencer finally fell asleep but Maxwell never did.  He rested though…and played on the ipad!…and then wandered the hotel with GJ while Spencer slept.  Back in the room we also realized that Spencer had totally gotten sunburned that morning.  I felt SO BAD. We were expecting a totally rainy day and I just didn’t prepare with sunscreen.  Poor, red chubby legs, arms and cheeks!

I won’t let it happen again Spencey!  I promise!

That night, we headed over to The Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickey’s!  Normally Chef Mickey’s books up months in advance but GJ was checking for reservations daily the two weeks leading up to our trip.  On the day before we left, she was able to get us in for dinner at 6:20!  Too perfect!

We got to The Contemporary a little early so went into the gift shop and came out with these…

Did I already mention GJ’s a sucker?  yea, Momma’s a sucker too!  🙂

They had a caricature artist in the lobby so I though, why not?!

He did a great job and turned my boys into Woody and Buzz!  Can’t wait to hang this in Maxwell’s room.

We then headed into dinner and got to see all of our favorites!

Once again, Maxwell liked all of them from afar but wasn’t quite so sure about them all up close.  Spencer couldn’t get enough of them.  He didn’t get scared at all and tried to grab each of them!  🙂

The one character that Maxwell actually liked up close was Minnie!  I think it’s because she was really only about my height…or maybe he’s just got a thing for the ladies!  🙂

By the time we got back to our room that night, everyone was wiped out.

We got up early the next morning and headed to the airport to fly home and see this guy!

yay!  I have to brag on both boys for just a second.  All things considered, Maxwell was so well behaved and such a good, agreeable Disney visitor.  Spencer was just unbelievable.  I don’t know how I got such a happy, easy baby but I’m not questioning it!  I’ll definitely be taking these two little dudes back to see Mickey again!

For now, bye bye and….

see ya real soon!

You are definitely allowed to brag on these two little boys – they were super travelers and visitors! Great fun with great little ones!

Awe! I’m so glad everything worked out so well- from Chef Mickey to the absence of rain. Sounds like it was meant to be. Happy Disney Day!
