Ok, this is the last Christmas post, I promise…but it’s a doozy. Lots of pictures to round out the week so let’s get to it.
On Thursday night my brother, Keath, arrived along with his wife, Jen (who’s pregnant with number 2!) and their super cute 19 month old, Delaney. I don’t think Delaney stood still for more than 2 seconds all weekend long…and she didn’t stop chattering for more than 2 seconds either! This little tornado of fun was just too cute chatting everyone up. You can only understand about every 10th word but whatever she’s saying is VERY important…and she talks with her hands for lots of emphasis! I’m not sure how my baby niece became such a big girl overnight but she’s just too much!!
Delaney in a rare moment of stillness…
This was Keath, Jen and Delaney’s first time to meet Maxwell in person. Delaney wasn’t so sure about this little person stealing some of her attention…
But Maxwell sure liked Delaney!
My brother decided to get a little practice holding two babies. Delaney still wasn’t convinced about this whole baby thing however. Look at her giving him the eye! 🙂
Keath sure liked holding two at once though! Good thing because he’s going to have two as of January 4!
Delaney taking a little more time to check out Maxwell…
Maxwell didn’t have a problem with anyone though! He was a happy camper as long as someone was giving him attention, especially Uncle Keath!
Delaney finally decided she’d be better off in her mom’s lap far away from the baby! 🙂
We tried to get everyone to play together, but it usually just ended up like this…
Luckily there were plenty of people around to entertain the little ones. Robert and Delaney had some fun with the train…
and I had fun with my little guy.
After a Feliz Navidad taco feast on Christmas Eve, we all tucked away snug in our beds ready for Christmas Day! Not surprisingly, our little guy couldn’t stand the excitement and had us up bright and early Christmas morning!
Posing in front of the tree at the crack of dawn in his pj’s…
(by the way, we’ve totally mastered the bumbo!)
Delaney was up bright and early as well looking cute in her Christmas dress…
both coming and going! 🙂
We then had a nutritious breakfast of sugar…what else do you eat on Christmas morning? and, yes, we found a Starbucks that was open!
After that, we got ready for the Christmas day fun to begin!
Attempting to get a photo of Delaney and Maxwell together proved difficult. It started with a Mexican standoff…
We finally convinced Delaney to sit next to Maxwell and she was being so sweet…
But I still didn’t get a great picture of them together. This will have to do!
We did capture this though and I’m so happy! One of my favorite pics from the week!
I think seeing Maxwell in his Bumbo made Delaney nostalgic for her baby days so she decided to kick it in the bumbo too…
It was all fun and games until she got stuck and couldn’t get out.
She then thought she’d see if she can still fit in the play seat…
She can’t! 🙂
Just as we were getting ready to open presents, we had a little visit from Santa!!! (aka Keath!)
Delaney was SO excited!!
Maxwell wasn’t so sure about Santa at first…
But then decided he was alright!
After a few more hugs for Delaney…
Santa blew a kiss and headed off on his way!
We then got down to the fun of opening presents! This pile was mine and Robert’s stash alone! woohoo!
Everyone must have been very good this year! Amongst the gifts, Delaney got a stroller…
and some awesome pink converse from her Aunt Stephie!
Susu got new earrings…
Daddo got some Ugg slippers…
and Robert got a new sweater.
Jen just relaxed and took it all in…
While Maxwell enjoyed the excitement from Dad’s lap…
and had a little snack!
Maxwell also got lots of fun toys and some big boy clothes too!
The most fun present of all? The one that told us that Delaney’s new sibling will be a boy!! Oh Boy!!
I got an awesome new 85mm camera lens and had fun snapping pics of everyone with it, including Daddo…
After a delicious Christmas dinner we finally got to the best part of the meal…
That’s pecan, apple and chocolate (my personal fave) homemade by GJ. YUM!
After pie we sat around and admired Susu’s new glasses!
Robert got in on the action too…
Maxwell passed on the 3D glasses in exchange for some laughs with GJ…
Overall it was a FANTASTIC Christmas! Sadly, we had to say goodbye on Sunday, but not before one last good GJ hug!!
And that’s all folks! If you’re still reading, thanks for sticking with me! I know it’s a lot of pictures but I just wanted to document Maxwell’s first ho ho holiday!
We hope you had a great Christmas sweet boy!
