More naples

Robert got to join us for the last bit of our stay in Naples. We were so glad he came because everything is more fun with him around!

First things first, we went to see Jurassic World – Fallen Kingdom. Spencer had been watching the other two Jurassic movies all week and was dying to see the new one! It didn’t disappoint!

Robert also took the boys fishing. He originally took Maxwell 2 years ago and then took both boys last year but they didn’t catch any fish. This year they had a good catch! Lots of snook and even a ~~flounder~~ grouper!

We also went exploring a bit and drove downtown one morning to grab breakfast…

yep, cookies for breakfast! vacation! We then walked over to the Naples Pier…

It’s still only half open after the hurricane but a pretty day to check out the views!

We then went over to Tin City where the kids got to pick out a piece of junk…they loved it! I see no need to ever go back. ha!

We even celebrated the 4th a day early with some fireworks and sparklers! Like I said, Robert makes everything more fun! especially playing with fire!

Wish we could be on vacation all the time!

Fishies!

We did lots and LOTS of swimming down in Naples! My little fish became excellent swimmers over the course of the two weeks thanks to some swim lessons with Monica. Samantha learned to swim and take a breath, Spencer could swim the whole length of the pool with no breath, and Maxwell mastered all of the strokes (including the butterfly!) and learned how to dive! Fantastic all around!

Of course, there was plenty of fun splashing in the pool too!

Also, swimming in goggles is the BEST! Why did it take me so long to discover this?!

No better way to beat the FL heat than with a dip in the pool!

All the Naples fun

Once we got to Naples, we quickly jumped into all of our favorite things – and some new things because these kids have a LOT of energy!!

We rode bikes to the tree…

We went to see movies – The Incredibles 2 and a free screening of Captain Underpants!

We went for ice cream (and made cookies and cakes!)…

We dug out ALL the toys!

We got crafty after a trip to Hobby Lobby…

and went to story time at Barnes & Noble.

We even got creative (desperate) with a trip to the trampoline park! Gotta run out ALL that energy!

Of course, there was a trip to Target for some treats from GJ!

Mixed in with all of this was lots and lots of swimming!! More to come tomorrow!

Traveling

As I mentioned, we just got back from an extended stay in Naples! I have over 250 pics to get through – so might as well start at the beginning! We left Robert on Father’s Day but did celebrate a little before we jetted off! Special thanks to Susan for organizing some special gifts!

For the first time, I took the kids on Delta through Atlanta so we could fly directly into Ft. Meyers. I’ve always flown direct to Tampa on Southwest on our previous trips, but that means a 3 hour drive to Naples once we land…not to mention the 3 hours GJ had already driven to pick us up! We were ready to go…

and gave final Father’s Day hugs to Robert…

and were off! The kids did great on the flights.

We made our way through the Atlanta airport with no problems and the kids even got a Happy Meal – I think Spencer and Samantha’s first! ha!

Unfortunately, our flight attendants were missing and it delayed us about an hour and a half but we made it to Ft. Meyers eventually…and were glad to be there with only a short drive to Naples! It didn’t take the kids long to get in the pool!!
