Soccer

November 15, 2024

Samantha had another fun season of fall soccer! Spirit was back in full force and played great. Samantha continues to be a total baller with her footwork and soccer skills. She plays her position of striker very well! They won most of their games…but couldn’t ever take down their nemesis Lightning Lions! Maybe next season! Lots of action shots from the season…

Of course, soccer is fun because she’s doing it with her buddies!

At the end of the season we did a mother v. daughter soccer game. I must admit I was kind of dreading it but it ended up being pretty fun…and hard! Soccer is a workout! We ended the game tied 1-1 so went to a shoot out. Each team got two kicks. Bonnie made two incredible stops as goalie for the girls to block the mom’s shots. Then Emmy knocked one in for the girls to win. I’m glad they won because those girls can be sore losers!! ha!

Proud of my #9!

Love this team!

Go Spirit!

Last game

November 14, 2024

Maxwell’s last game of the season was an exciting one at home – and they won! Now that’s the very best way to end the season!!

A great season worth celebrating!

The DB coach – Coach Robinson…

I’m so proud of my #20!

Special shout out to Samantha the super fan. Spencer somehow ended up having his own football practice every Thursday night so didn’t make it to any of Maxwell’s games but Samantha got dragged along to almost all of them! She was mostly a good sport about it – and definitely liked watching the cheerleaders!

Awesome season, Maxwell! You should be proud of yourself!

Spartans

November 13, 2024

Maxwell played football for the 8th grade Spartans this year and had a really great season! He played cornerback and started every game and played the majority of every game. Pretty fantastic! He rarely let up a play on his side and had some great tackles.

Of course, Maxwell was all about the drip each week – the turf tape, the scrunch socks, the eye black – it was all perfectly thought out each week! No surprise there.

He did get injured one game – his hand got caught and the trainer was afraid his thumb was broken. They got us set up to see Dr. Ortega at Andrews next morning to get it x-rayed. Thankfully it wasn’t broken but he did get to wear a brace for two weeks.

Love all these boys.

Maxwell even got to be captain for two games which was awesome.

The Spartans didn’t win much but that didn’t really matter – what mattered was that #20 played well! Hard to beat those Thursday night lights!

I sure am proud of this kid and I sure do love to watch him play!

Go Spartans!

Titans

November 12, 2024

As we all know, sports can bring some high highs and some low lows. After an awesome season last year making to the Super Bowl with the Raiders, this season was a little different. The Titans didn’t make it to the Super Bowl…in fact, they didn’t win a game all season. Whomp whomp. While they might not have brought home any Ws, they played their hearts out, had some really close games, and held their heads up high. Spencer again showed leadership and poise as the quarterback and made some fantastic plays throughout the season. They played well but games just never seemed to go our way in the end.

The playoff game was a heartbreaker. The Titans were leading for a while and then it was tied up until the very end. Unfortunately, Spencer took a cleat to the face – literally his teammates cleat went through his facemask and cleated him in the face! He took another hard hit to the head and the trainer pulled him from the game. I hate that he didn’t get to finish out the 4th quarter on the field. The game ended up going into overtime and the Titans lost. But, they gave it their all. Most importantly, Spencer didn’t have a concussion and the cut on his face healed up fine.

There’s plenty to learn in losing. While I wish the season had gone differently, I’m incredibly proud of how Spencer handled himself as well as the heart and hustle he put into each game. I love to watch him play!

You win some, you lose some. Or maybe you don’t win any at all some seasons!

Go Titans!

Cheer

November 7, 2024

Samantha cheered for the 3rd grade Saints team this year. We didn’t pay much attention to the football team or games, but she sure had fun on the sidelines cheering with her friends!

They were quite the cute crew and pretty good!

They all liked to show off their tumbling during the halt time show for sure. I think Samantha did 7 backhand springs across the field at the last game! Go Samantha go! I was the cheer mom so made some run throughs and treats for the players during the season.

Go team go!

A really fun cheer season with the cutest bunch of cheerleaders!

Would love to hear from you! 4 Comments
