Happy Thursday from us…

and these knuckleheads too.

Make it a great day!
Well, Maxwell had a boot when he was 2, Spencer had a boot when he was 7, so Samantha didn’t want to be left out and got a boot last week!

She hurt it jumping on the trampoline – with a ball – last Friday. She played her soccer game the next day on it but it hurt pretty bad. When she was still complaining Monday after school I decided it was time to go to the doctor. We went up to OS1 which is a pediatric walk-in orthopedic clinic and it was fantastic. Thankfully nothing is broken. She just has some strained ligaments and needs to wear a boot for 7 to 10 days. That deserved a pink drink from Starbucks of course!

She made the best of it at school last week…

Even wore that boot for PJ day!

Then she decided to play in her soccer games this past weekend. We wrapped it up and she managed but she’s got the boot back on this week and still staying out of tumble.

It will be all healed up soon and she’ll be back good as new in no time.
We recently had the opportunity to go see the Blue Angels at Maxwell Air Force base with scouts and it was such a cool experience. Robert and Spencer headed down early with everyone to get the campsite all set up…

and then I drove Maxwell down after his baseball game to meet up with everyone at the air show. Samantha tagged along and we just made a day of it!

The airshow was huge and we had quite a walk to finally meet up with everyone – but we were very glad to find them because they had an awesome viewing spot in the VIP section with tents, free food, and fantastic views! They had all kinds of planes and parachuters – Miss Alabama even parachuted down!

Pretty sure the boys were more excited about all these cars parked on the base than the planes! ha!

For Daddo!

The Blue Angels finally came out and they were so cool to watch! Pretty unbelievable what they can do with the planes.

What’s really cool is that the dad of one of our new scouts is a former Blue Angel!

Jenny and Ronnie even came out to see them too. A fun day for everyone!

After the show, the scouts even got to go take a picture with the Blue Angels. How cool is this?

The boys then all headed back to the campsite and Samantha and I made the long walk back to the car to head home. We did pass some cool stuff along the way though…

A really fun day for everyone!
Last day, best day!
Twinkies!

While it wasn’t sunny all day it was sunny most of the day and we were happy! There was still plenty of fresh powder…

A little bit of sunshine really does make ALL the difference!

When we stopped for lunch early, Samantha walked into some snow that hadn’t been touched since the day before. Look how deep in just one night!

Up to her knees!

I do love all the quality time we get to spend together on these ski trips! Lots of time with my favorite silly peeps!

We did one more run through the back bowls after lunch…

We all enjoyed the pretty afternoon weather and went out on a high note!

Can’t beat it!

We flew home the next day – a few hours delayed but worn out and happy!

Another successful spring break in the books! Where are we going next year?
Tuesday started with a little more sunshine than we had the day before so things were looking good!

Temps were still really REALLY cold but a little sunshine goes a long way!

Everyone appreciates the lunch break always.

Post lunch and sun still shining!

We skied the back bowls which were really cool – but also hard to see as the clouds starting moving in and visibility got lower. Everything was just white and it was difficult to tell changes in terrain!

By afternoon we got on a lift and literally watched the storm move in while we rode up the mountain.

By the time we got to the top you could barely see the chair in front of us…

and it was another white out even scarier than yesterday!

We made our way inside for a hot chocolate break at that point! Thankfully the rest of the day wasn’t quite as snowy and we made our way back down to the mountain cold, tired and happy! We all had prime rib that night at the Lancelot Inn and were ready for out last day on the mountain!
