We had a great Lancers on the Lawn event on Sunday!
Perfect weather, cute girls, fun evening!
So many “firsts” wrapped up in the “lasts” of 6th grade! Spencer had his first dance marking one of the last milestones of 6th grade and his time at MBE. Their dance was up at MBC and all to the boys had dinner by the pool beforehand. Of course Spence was looking extra sharp!
These boys got plenty of energy out – and plenty of Coke in! – before heading to the dance all hyped up!
All the boys…
all the girls…
and the whole grade together!
Only 3 more weeks of school to go!
Last week Samantha was in the 4th grade Alabama history play titled “I Dream of Alabama”. It was such a great production! All of the kids play famous Alabamians. Spencer was Chief Tuscaloosa two years ago and Samantha got to play two roles this year – a “Johnny singer” singing about her husband going to fight in the Civil War and she was also Mountain Brook’s own Courteney Cox!!
She killed both parts. What can I say, she’s got range! We worked pretty hard on her Courteney Cox outfit – we obviously had to go full Monica. This was our inspo pic…
and I think we nailed it!
The wig just sent it over. She wore her Johnny Singer dress for the first half…
and then had to do a quick change behind the scenes. The Courteney Cox role was a pretty big part, not only did she talk about Courteney (who was even an MBE graduate!) but she also introduced several other characters with the narrator during the second half.
Proud of all of these kiddos for their excellent performance!
Of course, I think Courteney…I mean Samantha…was the star!! She’ll be there for you!
I sure do love to watch any and everything this little star does!
Some more of Maxwell’s art from this year!
This is hanging in the JH office…
and this was commissioned by one of the coaches to hang in his office! So awesome!
This wasn’t art class but he made this poster for his Advanced English class with Mr. Cotten. I was very impressed!
Maxwell is my renaissance man!
We wrapped up another semester of 4th grade girls bible club this week. It’s a lot of early mornings but it is sweet to see all these girls each week…
We had a special treat on the last one and all met at Gilchrist for breakfast!
Happy Easter!
