Camp Alpine

April 28, 2026

Samantha left yesterday for a week full of science and outdoor adventure at Camp Alpine! She was wishing she was already headed to Greystone but a week at camp will be fun. The day started off right when she got on Bus B with her best buds! Hooray!

Track Meet

April 17, 2026

The Foundation does a track meet each year for all of the elementary schools to compete against each other. This is the first year that Samantha decided she wanted to do it. I’m glad she did and I think she’s made she’s never done it before! She signed up for the 100m dash and the high jump…which she has never done before in her life! ha! Her friend Kate’s mom did track in high school she she volunteered to try and teach them a little form before the event…

They caught on pretty fast! The night of the meet was fun – and of course all the girls had their MBE flair! I spent the day searching for red and white ribbons…but they sure looked cute!

Love this sweet crew of buddies!

Samantha had been doing the high jump in her cheer shoes since they are lighter and then I realized she had gone over to line up for the 100m dash and didn’t have her running shoes. I had walked down to the track to try and get them to her and before I could get there I turned around and there she was coming toward me at full speed!

This girl turned on the gas!! She easily won her heat! Woohoo!!

She ended up 19th out of 100+ girls. I guess cheer shoes make pretty good running shoes too!!

She did great in the high jump too. She and Kate both cleared 3 feet, 6 inches which is awesome. They both narrowly knocked the bar down at 3 feet, 8 inches. Way to go girls!

Samantha also ran in a relay and they got second to last in their heat…but they had a lot of heart! It was a fun – and very, very long – night at the track!

LEAD

April 15, 2026

As part of Spartan Council Maxwell has to be the leader of a group for the LEAD conference. He’s done a lot of planning and had to get his table all set up for the team reveal. Of course GJ was up bright and early to help blow up balloons – she’s the best!

I thought his table looked fantastic! He did a great job on the sign of course.

Proud of him!
