The long weekend sure was nice but it’s back to school today!

100 books
Like the boys each year, Samantha did a summer reading challenge. The summer before 1st grade they all read 100 books! Maxwell read 100 books and Spencer read 100 books! The boys also had a summer reading challenge and could earn Vbucks for every book they read. They did ok…not our best summer of reading but that’s ok.
Samantha was a little slow to get started but then picked up speed at the end of summer. A big thanks to GJ for getting her going and finding some books online to read!
I’m so proud of this girl. First grade has been an adjustment. I just hope she knows how special and wonderful and brave she is! And very very smart!! 100 books! Her prize? LOLs of course! Two OMG dolls and two LOL dolls to be specific. She earned them!

First day!
First day of school was Tuesday!! My crew was ready for a new year in 5th grade…
3rd grade…
and 1st grade!!

They are wearing masks this year but will get to interact with their entire grade at recess, etc. Parents are even allowed in the school this year! Woohoo! Hopefully everyone will stay safe and healthy and we’ll have the best school year yet.
Everyone came home happy after the first day and gave it a thumbs up…

Meet the Teacher!
We had meet the teacher on Monday and all went well! Samantha has Mrs. Jones who is going to be FANTASTIC I think! Both Spencer and Maxwell’s teachers are very young and new – I’ll take eager new teachers with fresh ideas any day! Spencer has Miss Campbell and Maxwell has Miss Rogers. My crew was looking sharp to go see their classrooms!
While seeing your class and teacher are nice, seeing friends is the best part!
Although, the very best part of the day was the epic lemonade stand that Maxwell and his friend Jack set up! They are trying to save money to buy an underwater scooter and knew Monday would be the perfect day to set up on our corner outside the school. There were parents and kids coming in and out of the school from 9:00 to 1:00. How could anyone resist these little entrepreneurs…
and their helpful employees!!
Maxwell’s sign alone drew in the crowds! These boys sat out in the hot sun all day and earned $150!! Wow!!
