Hulk Smash!

On Saturday we celebrated our very favorite almost 4 year old!

Spencer’s birthday isn’t until the 18th but, October is so busy that the 8th ended up being the best day for his Incredible Hulk party. We followed our recent birthday party formula – balloons and bounce house in the backyard with doughnuts and plenty of friends and family! It was the best way to celebrate our happy little guy!

The kids had a blast in the cool bounce house which had a ball pit and a slide inside! They also loved Hulk Smashing each other with the Hulk hands! As always, the sand table was a huge hit. And, thanks to GJ, everyone got to take home their very own Hulk mask! We had a happy birthday boy and happy party goers for sure!

We brought out Spencer’s doughnut cake and sang to him and then he blew and blew and blew on those candles but just couldn’t get them out! We should have lifted him up a bit but then Maxwell came to the rescue which I’m not so sure if Spencer appreciated or not! I have to share all these pictures because the expressions on both Spencer and Maxwell’s faces are just too good….

Birthday celebrations

Are you ready to hear about Robert’s big 40th birthday celebration?! I mean…we went ALL OUT for 40! Dinner at home, balloons, and cupcakes. Yep, ALL OUT! Also, apparently all you get when you turn 40 are envelopes! 🙂

The envelopes were pretty good though. I gave Robert two Sonos speakers which have already proven to be a fantastic gift for me too! 🙂 It makes it so easy to play music in the house and I’m just wondering why we didn’t do it sooner! I also gave Robert a trip to Pursell Farms with his siblings and their spouses for some golf and clay shooting! We’re gonna celebrate his 40s with a BANG!

We also celebrated my birthday with a BIG BASH – tacos at home with GJ! ha! But, considering GJ actually got out of Florida in the Hurricane Matthew mess the morning of my birthday, it was actually a great celebration. Plus, I went and had lunch…errr brunch because it’s at 10:30!…with Maxwell up at his school. Highlight of my day! As for a gift, Robert gave me a night away for my birthday too! Guess we both realize we need a break. 😉

Margaret is one!

Two weekends ago we went over to Mary Beth and Holland’s house to celebrate Margaret’s first birthday! It was a beautiful day and the kids had fun bouncing in the bounce house, playing in the pool of balls, and eating lots of cupcakes! In fact, Maxwell ate so many cupcakes that he literally made himself sick but, hey…live and learn! 🙂

This cute little birthday boy is celebrating a big one today! 40!!

Man, 40 used to seem so old, right? While Robert may say he’s not what he used to be, I’d say he’s better than he’s ever been! This past year was full of fun for the best guy around…

Disney part 2

After a fun first day at Disney, we all slept great and, thankfully, no one fell out of bed! We were up bright and early because we had a breakfast reservation at The Crystal Palace for 9:15. We learned a little trick – if you have a breakfast reservation for 9:15 or earlier, you can get into the park early and go on and get in line to ride certain rides right when they open at 9:00 before you go to breakfast. If you get really lucky (like we did!) they might even start running the rides early! It’s also fun to be in the park when it’s virtually empty and we got the photog to snap the traditional castle picture…

GJ went walking around with the baby while the boys and I went straight for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We got there about 8:45 and they were already running the ride so we go to walk right on and ride!!

Woohoo! We then made our way over to breakfast but stopped off at Peter Pan as it was only a 10 minute wait. Perfect! We then met GJ and Samantha at The Crystal Palace for breakfast where we got to see Pooh and friends.

The kids didn’t care that much about Pooh but I would definitely do that breakfast again based on location and food! Maxwell then said he was really wanting to meet Mickey so we headed over to Main Street to greet the main mouse!

Maxwell walked right up and gave him a big hug! Spencer needed a little encouragement from brother to get close but he did and was happy to show Mickey that he had a picture of him on his shirt!

Mickey was chatting with the boys and brought up something about a lion and that was all they needed to show off their roars! Mickey was so impressed he decided to roar with them!

Going to see Mickey wasn’t in our original plan but I’m so glad Maxwell asked to do it because it might have been my favorite part of the trip!

After Mickey it was the Haunted House and then a quick stop off to see my childhood friend, Andee, who happened to be there that day with her crew! What fun!
