The kids and Robert were very nice to me on Mother’s Day! They all “happily” posed for pictures…

they took me out to dinner at La Fete which was magnifique!

And they even got me a nice, new suitcase! Now we just need to plan a trip!

Love this crew!

Spencer is on a new AA baseball team this season and he’s really enjoying it. He likes all of the boys and is getting to play lots and lots of baseball! He’s been first batter all season and has mainly played center field and catcher. He’s also pitched a few times. I’m hoping he gets to pitch even more because he can put it over the plate!

The best baseball spectators!

Two weekends ago when I went to Destin with Maxwell for baseball, Robert went to Mississippi with Spencer for a tournament! I think everyone had a really good time and the Goats played awesome! Pretty sure the highlight was the cool hotel pool with a lazy river!

They even managed to locate a Dick’s so Spencer could get a new belt since his current one was at home in his closet! Oops!

Spencer got nailed in the arm with a pitch but he’s tough.

What a fun crew!

Even more fun? Winning the tournament! Woohoo! The Goats walked away champs!

Racking up that bling!

Proud of these boys! Go Yard Goats!
Maxwell played 7th grade baseball this year which is part of Spartan Baseball Club. The school doesn’t have a 7th grade team so it’s “club” baseball and not technically associated with the school but all practices and games are the high school. The coaches are independent and not employed by the school. They divide the players up into an all 8th grade team, an all 7th grade team, and then a team of 7th and 8th mixed. The rosters varied some game to game but Maxwell played the majority of time on the mixed “Black” team. Beginning of the season photos…

The experience was overall positive but also pretty frustrating. There were several games he didn’t see the field, the changes in rosters didn’t make sense from week to week, and there was just a feeling of unknown throughout the whole season. 7th grade is tough – some of the boys look like fully grown men and some look like kids – and that plays into sports a lot. One thing I know, I’m incredibly proud of Maxwell and how he handled himself all season. When he was riding the bench, he made himself useful by doing gamechanger and always running out to help warm up the outfield. He was always ready to get into game when there was an opportunity. Over the season he played left field, second base and even third. He also pitched a few times and did fantastic.

The most exciting point in the season came in the end of season tournament when the Black team had to play the Green team – which was basically the B team versus the 7th grade A team. It was an awesome game and the B team won it! What a night!! Maxwell likes baseball and he’s a good player. I hope he continues with it because he’s got the skills and the potential to be a great player. I sure to love to watch him play. I’ll always bet on Maxwell!!

Go Spartans!
Happy Thursday from us…

and these knuckleheads too.

Make it a great day!
We recently had the opportunity to go see the Blue Angels at Maxwell Air Force base with scouts and it was such a cool experience. Robert and Spencer headed down early with everyone to get the campsite all set up…

and then I drove Maxwell down after his baseball game to meet up with everyone at the air show. Samantha tagged along and we just made a day of it!

The airshow was huge and we had quite a walk to finally meet up with everyone – but we were very glad to find them because they had an awesome viewing spot in the VIP section with tents, free food, and fantastic views! They had all kinds of planes and parachuters – Miss Alabama even parachuted down!

Pretty sure the boys were more excited about all these cars parked on the base than the planes! ha!

For Daddo!

The Blue Angels finally came out and they were so cool to watch! Pretty unbelievable what they can do with the planes.

What’s really cool is that the dad of one of our new scouts is a former Blue Angel!

Jenny and Ronnie even came out to see them too. A fun day for everyone!

After the show, the scouts even got to go take a picture with the Blue Angels. How cool is this?

The boys then all headed back to the campsite and Samantha and I made the long walk back to the car to head home. We did pass some cool stuff along the way though…

A really fun day for everyone!
