Pro Newborn Photos

November 21, 2012

We had Lauren from Peppermint Photography come over and take some photos when Spencer was 8 days old.  She did a great job!  My favorite pictures are on the announcement which I’ll share later but they were all good.  Some other favorites below…

So sweet, right?

She also took some family shots but I’m still not sure if I’m going to use one of them on our Christmas card so am going to hold off on sharing them until I decide.  If you’re in Bham and need a photographer, I highly recommend Lauren!

Would love to hear from you! 2 Comments

Family photos

August 6, 2012

Hi everyone!  Hope you had a good weekend.  Ours was great and involved celebrating family birthdays as well as seeing some old friends.  Pictures to come this week!  Today I have some new family photos to share with you all.  I had Lauren of Piper Photography come out about a month ago to snap some photos for a little project I’m helping a friend with and just had to get her to take some family photos while she was here.  These are my favorites…

Maxwell’s serious face…

and Maxwell’s silly “cheese!” face…

I love this one but want to reach into the picture and pull his shorts down in the middle SO bad!

This is a good one…

and this one was the real winner I thought.  and it’s now on the sidebar of the blog…did you notice that on Friday?!  🙂

We then took lots inside.  These are two of my favorites…

Maxwell makes me laugh in that last one!  She also took a lot of really neat pictures of the inside of the house which I will happily share with you once my friend’s project is up and running!

If you live in Birmingham and want a good photographer, definitely check out Piper Photography!  You can see some of the other photos she’s done for us here, here and here.  I love Lauren!

Happy Monday all!

Photography

May 3, 2012

If you look up, you’ll see a new page on the header titled Photography.  Now, as I say on that page, I am in no way any sort of professional.  It’s just a fun hobby for me and one that I’ve really gotten into over the last 2 years.  People always see my pictures and ask, “what kind of camera do you have?”, so I thought I’d answer that question and a lot more for you.  What I don’t do on the page is explain photography – there are plenty of other people who are much better at that than I.  What I do on the page is list all of the resources that I have found helpful and hopefully will help you too.  Go check it out and let me know if you have any other questions.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Maxwell since the beginning.  It’s fun to go back and look to not only see how much he has grown, but also to see that my photography has improved a little too!  At least I think so!  🙂

Funny that almost all of my favorite pictures are either in our backyard or on the swings!  Guess you can tell where we hang out!

Hope you guys find the new page helpful!

Sitting still no more

May 1, 2012

I remember, oh how I remember the days when Maxwell would sit still and let me take his picture.  Well, technically he would sit still because he couldn’t move yet, not because he wanted to let me take his picture.  But still, those were the days.  Days like this…

That picture was taken on May 3, 2011.  Hard to believe that was just about 1 year ago today.  He was so easy to photograph.  He’d just sit wherever I put him and smile at any silly little thing I did.  Times, they have changed.  I’m now running after Maxwell just trying to capture the split second when he actually stands still.  And getting him to stand still AND smile?  Let’s just say it’s a challenge.

I might get the “I don’t want my picture taken right now” face…

Or the “oh, there’s a plane in the sky!” distracted face…

Or the “I’m going to practice my football 3 point stance” face…

Or the “I’m going to show you the cereal in my mouth” face…

But, then I’ll get something like this…

Boom.  And the challenge is worth every single second.

Looking out…and in

June 30, 2011

Have I mentioned that Maxwell is crawling up on all 4’s?  Well, he is. No more belly scooting, army crawl…we’ve got an official 4 point crawl.

We were sitting over by the window the other day and I loved watching Maxwell look out…

Then I decided that I would go look at him from the other side of the window…

I love his little palm pressed up against the glass…

and his curly little wings above his ears just kill me…

He’s the best.

Would love to hear from you! 4 Comments
