Yard!

The landscapers finally finished with our updates yesterday.  Hooray!  Love the new shrubs and all the annual color around.  My favorite part?  The peonies!!  Peonies are my very favorite (along with tulips), as is evidenced by my wedding bouquet…

I’m so excited to have beautiful, hot pink peonies growing in my very own yard!

They are GORGEOUS and make me so happy!

In other news, someone woke up with a great case of bed-head…

and later got himself into a little predicament!

Yes, he did this all on his own!  Silly boy.

Grand Central Station

What a day we had yesterday!  This house has been like Grand Central Station the past few weeks and yesterday was no exception.  We are finishing up some landscaping and should have it all done today.  After that, no more workers!!  Thank goodness!  I don’t know how I would be managing all of it without Supernanny Susan’s help.  She does SO much more around here than just care for and love Maxwell completely.  Three BIG cheers for Susan!

This weekend I was on my own with my favorite little buddy. Robert was out of town on a golf trip with his brother (a Christmas present from moi) so Maxwell and I got lots of QT. We were pretty productive too – worked in the yard, took several walks, stocked up on groceries, did some shopping and then cleaned out my closet to make room for that shopping. I’m taking advantage of these days when I can tote Maxwell around Saks with no complaints…I know that won’t last forever! 🙂 It was a gorgeous weekend here too with temps in the high 80’s. It was nice but I’m not ready for those sweltering summer days quite yet. Let me tell ya, 88 degrees feels way hotter when you’re toting a 17 pound baby boy on your hip!

We have a fun week coming up. Maxwell’s baptism is on Sunday so lots of family is coming into town. We are so excited to see everyone! Enjoy the pics today…

Friday Favorite

Now that Maxwell is rockin and rollin’, I finally got out the play mat to put on the floor.  I know there are tons of different versions of these mats out there but I love this one because it’s neutral colors.  It was actually a Christmas present (thanks GJ and Daddo!) and it came from Skip Hop.  It comes with enough squares to make it double the size of what you see below.  It keeps the drool off the rug and provides just enough padding in case his head goes thunk (still working on that balance sometimes!).

Daily happenings

It’s been a pretty nice week around here.  Gorgeous weather, no painters and the porta-potty is finally gone from our driveway!  hooray!  Maxwell has been playing hard every day and rolling over and over.  If he doesn’t get that 3rd little nap in, he usually looks like this around 6:15…

Yesterday Maxwell enjoyed eating some more carrots and getting them all over himself…

And we’ve LOVED having Robert in town all week!  We love Dad!
