As I’ve said many times before, Susan and Maxwell always go on the best adventures. Yesterday they had a big adventure but didn’t have to go far! Susan showed up yesterday morning with a FUN surprise for the backyard…
A tent!! So cool! They played outside in the tent all day and even had a tent picnic.
Someday Robert and Maxwell are going to have fun sleeping outside in that tent. This city girl will be at home in her cozy bed! 🙂
Oh how I love their adventures!
What a fun weekend I had! I went to St. Louis to visit my besties – girls that I’ve known forever. Really, forever. I met one in pre-school, one in kindergarten and one in 7th grade. We’ve all stayed friends and make it a point to get together as often as possible even though none of us even live in the same state anymore. My friend, Hannah, moved to St. Louis last year so we decided to take a little trip to see her new town. Meet me in St. Louis!! 🙂
We had a blast and laughed until we cried. It does me good to spend time with these girls and I can’t wait until we can do it again. Did someone say Mexico??!!

I also loved getting to see Joshua, Hannah’s 3 year old cutie. Joshua is getting a baby sister in only 2 months so Maxwell, Ellis, Livi and Reese wanted to send him a special Big Brother present…

A BIG thank you to all of our husbands for watching the babies and holding down their respective forts. I think Robert and Maxwell had a blast of a weekend. I know it involved a trip to Bass Pro so it couldn’t have been too bad! While I loved chatting with my friends, my favorite part of the day was when I would see an email from Robert that included a picture of my little buddy. There’s nothing better than opening an email and seeing this smiling face….
Robert and Maxwell also took a trip to Barnes & Noble on Sunday before I got home. Maxwell wandered off and this is where Robert found him…

I had SO MUCH FUN with my girls but I sure was glad to get back home to my two boys last night.
In other not so good news, Maxwell’s great-grandmother Susu took a bad fall last week and has a broken pelvis. She’s a loyal blog reader and half the reason I even do this blog is for her. I would love it if you all would keep her in your thoughts and send her wishes for a speedy recovery. We love you Susu!

Today’s Friday Favorite are my beloved snack traps. Likey nothing new to you moms out there but, if you’re a mom and you don’t know about these – well, go buy one today. These things are genius. You can fill them with any snack you want and they’re totally spill-proof. We have several around and fill them with everything from yogurt melts to goldfish to apple bits. They go with us in the stroller and to restaurants. Maxwell loves getting his snack out and I love that they keep things relatively mess-free!
There’s tons of different types but we have the Munchkin snack traps and love them.

Good news around here – the Augmentin seems to be working and Maxwell is slowly getting back to himself and out of his pitiful ear infection funk. Hooray!
Today I’ve got some pictures of my little buddy in his choo-choo train shirt that I made for him…
As I think I’ve mentioned before, Susan taught Maxwell to hold his little arm up and say “Toot Toot!” whenever he sees the train painting on his wall.
Well, when I showed him that he had a train on his shirt too, he was “Toot Toot!”-ing all day. Ridiculously cute.
I promise that applique tutorial is coming soon. Things are just busy busy busy around here these days!

On Sunday we went up to Huntsville to visit some of Robert’s family. Robert’s cousin, Mary Ellen, was in town from Virginia with her husband and little boy, Andrew. We hadn’t seen Andrew since he was itty bitty and, oh my, these boys grow too fast!

Andrew is only 3 months younger than Maxwell and it was so fun to see them check each other out!
Even though Maxwell is a little bit older, he was only a hair taller than Andrew. I think they both loved having someone their own size around!

Of course, Andrew wasn’t the only exciting thing for Maxwell that day. He also had fun getting to check out Sweet Pea the dog…
and getting his first slam dunk (thanks to a little help from LuLu)!
The one place that Maxwell’s age gave him an advantage was on the stairs. Andrew thought he had the lead but Maxwell snuck up behind him and beat him to the top!

It was a beautiful day so we also got to spend some time playing outside. I love Maxwell’s face in this one…
Ha! He means business with that noodle!! Don’t worry, they were playing happily one second later…
We ended the day with an attempt at a group cousin shot. If you remember the pictures from last time, you know we haven’t had much success with this in the past. Unfortunately, this time was no different.
Eh. Maxwell and Anna are clearly more interested in Sweet Pea than smiling for the camera! But, it’s the best we got so it’ll have to do!
