Like most of the country, we’ve had a very mild winter. That said, we’ve had a few cold days here and there. Below are some pictures from one cold-ish day about a week ago. Mind you, two days after I took these pictures I sent Maxwell to school in short sleeves! I guess that’s an Alabama winter for you!
We had quite an adventure in the backyard. Let me show you what all we did…
First, Maxwell took his place on his new favorite spot.
He loves to sit on his perch and check things out in the yard!
Second, Maxwell carefully went down all the steps on his hands and knees.
Safety First!
And, of course, he’s always proud when he makes it down!
Yay for Maxwell!
Third, Maxwell checked things out through the fence. Let’s hope this is the only time he’s behind bars! (ha ha, aren’t I funny?)
Fourth, Maxwell decided my pansies needed a little “pruning”!
He’s so helpful.
I then told him no (several times) and he had to pout a little…
Poooor Maxwell.
Fifth, Maxwell played with – what else? – trucks.
Sixth, Maxwell pulled his hat over his eyes. He does this all the time and thinks it’s pretty funny.
I agree. It is funny. Silly boy.
Seventh, Maxwell decided to work on his core strength and balance on the ball…
He’s got a little work to do on that core!
Eighth, bubbles.
What a way to end a beautiful, winter day!
Tomorrow – the long promised applique tutorial!
One last thing – Happy Birthday to Maxwell’s Great-Granddaddy! Hope it’s a great one!

Busy – busy little boy! Wish I had that energy!
Cara says
Maxwell isn’t the only one who needs work on core- -Cara is going to have to work on hers as his cousin Savannah’s activity of choice many times is having someone bounce on the ball while holding her!
Love Maxwell’s sideways peek while going down the steps!
Dad says
Ahhh, the winter wonderland that is Birmingham. So much to do and you don’t need gloves or winter boots. You forgot to mention he picks up sticks. He’s a good helper too.
Happy birthday Mr. Patterson!

Bubbles! Bubbles! Bubbles! Got to love them. Maxwell is so cute in his hats. 🙂
