Orange is his favorite color
When I got back to my hotel in NY Sunday night, I had a text from Robert that said:
This is what happens when you ask your 2.5 year old to keep busy while you put the other to bed. Orange all over legs, arms, you name it!
Oh my goodness. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time! Thankfully it was washable marker. Thankfully he only drew on himself and not the furniture. Thankfully I was in NY and could just laugh and know that Robert had it handled! 🙂
By Monday night, I think everyone was ready for Momma to be home.

Outside fun
I had a wonderful trip to NY and got home late last night. Back to normal today!
Just some more pics from our time outside…which is where we spend just about every day now that the weather is so nice! Thank goodness for a good backyard! Maxwell finds all sorts of places to build “construction sites” where he loads rocks, dumps dirt and digs sand. He’s also taken an interest in digging into my herb garden lately. Grrrr. We’re down one basil plant and had a talk about not touching momma’s plants!

So professional
First, happy birthday to Aunt Messy today! Hope it’s a great one!
Today I’m acting like a real professional and am in the city so nice they named it twice! NYC! I had to take a quick trip to the city for work (poor me, right?!) so I flew up yesterday morning and got to spend the day doing around the city all by myself. What a treat! I’ll be back home late tonight but I’m going to enjoying my little 48 hour taste of Manhattan while Robert and Susan hold down the fort in Alabama!
Speaking of work, I had to take a picture of myself (awkward) for something at work so had set up my camera last weekend on the tripod for Robert to snap some shots. Of course, when Maxwell saw the setup, he had to hop into the pictures with me! I love these…and the one I ended up using for work even had him in it – cropped out of course! 🙂
Do we look professional or what?!

Hopscotch
Susan is introducing Maxwell to the classic games of the playground like hopscotch! They drew a hopscotch grid on the bricks with chalk and Maxwell thought it was just about the funniest thing in the world to see me and Susan hopping up and down that thing. Can’t blame him – it was pretty funny! 🙂 Maxwell loved to hop on it too – even if he didn’t get his feet exactly in the right squares!
He is a good hopper though!
Wonder what game will be next? Four square?
