The boys were looking shaggy so we got them all cleaned up and looking sharp!

No surprise on the color choice of sucker for either of them!
No haircut for this little one but she’s got her bow!

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!
Happy Monday! This past weekend we headed to Montgomery for Robert’s 20th High School reunion. Robert got to see some old friends, we both did a little birthday celebrating, and we all got to meet the newest member of the family! Robert’s sister, Mary Beth, had her baby on September 27th so we got to spend some time watching football with 6 day old Margaret Louisa Walls. What a treat!

The boys thought she was pretty neat.

She kept making little noises and Spencey said, “Baby Mah-get’s squeaking!” 😉

Baby Mantha wasn’t too pleased when I was holding Margaret. Jealous much?

We’re so glad she’s here safe and sound and happy to have another girl in the family born 8 months to the day after Samantha!

We also had some cake to celebrate 37 and 39! woohoo!

For the reunion, Robert and I stopped by the high school football game on Friday night. It was pretty cold with drizzly rain but still fun for Robert to see familiar faces and allow us both to wax nostalgic about the good ole days of Friday night lights, football, and cheerleading! An after party at Francie’s provided plenty of stories of days gone by and maybe even an embarrassing yet hilarious picture or two. On Saturday we went to the cocktail party at the school and enjoyed visiting with everyone.

It really was a good weekend with several fun things packed in. You know…20 years out of high school (well, 18 for me!) sure doesn’t look or feel as old as I used to think it would. Cheers!
Woohoo!! It’s Robert’s Birthday!!!

We sure do love Dad! He’s the best soccer coach, chess master, bath giver, football teacher, and tickler we could ask for. Here’s to a wonderful year of adventure and fun ahead!

39 and holding strong!!! 🙂
Happy to be ending the week with a good doctor report! Maxwell went to his 5 year checkup on Wednesday and got an A+!

It was honestly a treat to get to take him to the doctor because we had some one on one time to chat about school, Legos, and tigers. We even got to make lots of shadow puppets on the wall!

Maxwell is 42 and 3/4 inches tall (75th%) and 36 lbs (50th%). Interestingly, he’s been right around those same %s at his 4 year and 3 year checkups! He’s growing right along just as he should be! Unfortunately, he had to get 4 shots. Boo. He was so tough while getting stuck and even watched the nurse do it. But, by the time the last one went in, the tears started flowing. The nice thing about getting shots though? Treats afterward! He got a cake pop from Starbucks and trip to Target where he picked out, what else? more Legos.
3 year checkup…

4 year checkup…

and 5 year checkup!

I’m so proud of this sweet boy and so happy to call him mine. Hooray for good doctor reports!
Maxwell is taking chess up at school on Monday mornings this year. He’s only had a few classes but is already loving it! He even got his own chess set and t-shirt to wear to every class. Our last two nights around here have looked like this…

and this…

Smarty pants! I’m so glad Robert knows how to play because I have no idea. Checkers is more my speed! You gotta watch out for Spence though…last night we found the two extra queens stuck in his garbage truck. 😉
