On to Spencer…

He started off strong in 2013….

Then we didn’t get one from 2014 because he wouldn’t sit for the photographer. Yep, his teacher said he just wouldn’t do it. Oh well.

2015 brought this lovely gem (I’m almost wishing he had pulled a 2014 stunt again! ha!)…

I’ll take it! And please note he’s wearing the same shirt as Maxwell. Not planned but Spence just happened to pick that shirt that day so it made me happy! 🙂

Around here lately all the kids are dealing with major coughs and colds – largely due to to the super dry conditions. We’re on day 60+ of no rain! Stage 4 drought! The runny nose caught up to Samantha and she said her ear hurt…

so I took her to the doctor and, sure enough, yet another ear infection. This is the 3rd in a row and if she continues on this path, we might be looking at tubes.

Other updates? Maxwell threw up at school on Thursday of last week (!) but after a nap on the couch he was totally fine that afternoon. Who knows what it was?

Then yesterday he got a migraine while we were at Target and then threw up on the way home. Poor, poor guy.

In better non-sick news, last weekend we had a visit from Baby Margaret…

and then Robert and I spent the night out to finally celebrate my birthday! A big thanks to Susan for holding down the fort with this crew…

Mr. Maxwell

When I told Maxwell that Mrs. Rollins had said how smart Spencer was, Maxwell replied “he gets it from me.” Ha! While maybe not the most humble response, it’s probably pretty true! Spencer has definitely benefited from being exposed to Maxwell and all the things he’s learning. Maxwell continues to do great in Kindergarten. I even got an email from his “new” teacher two weeks ago saying, “I just wanted to brag on Maxwell, and let you know how much I have enjoyed him being in my class. Maxwell is always doing the right thing. He is always the first one to follow directions, and is always willing to lend a helping hand.” Yep, that made me pretty proud to read! The teacher then sent us this showing the Thankful board she made about all the kids…

Maxwell loves kindergarten (and is getting pretty good at reading!) but, this time of year, he mostly wants to be outside climbing! He’ll climb anything he can – playground equipment, trees, walls….
