Well, it sure has been a nice two weeks having our favorite neighbors in town but, sadly, they leave today.

Even though lots of things are pretty hard right now, it’s always better when we get to see GJ every day!

Safe travels GJ and Daddo!

About two weeks ago Robert took the kids to see Susan and Barry for the day and they had all sorts of fun on the lake! After seeing Maxwell up on a ski board earlier this summer, she was determined to get the kids up on skis!

2 out of 3 made it up on skis! Woohoo!! Robert said Samantha could have done it if she’d tried one more time but she got knocked in the belly with a ski and that was it for her. Super proud of the boys though!

You know it’s been a good day when you look like this on the drive home!

Thank you Susan and Barry for a super fun day!!
I almost forgot about the best part of our NC road trip last weekend – Buc-ees! Alabama got a Buc-ees a few months ago and the kids have been wanting to check it out so…why not? It’s like a giant gas station and mini Walmart all rolled into one. The people watching was pretty great too – Alabama at its finest right here.

We managed to walk out with a t-shirt, several stickers, bracelets, candy, a fudge sampler, and a Dr. Pepper Icee. Win!
We even got lucky enough to see the beaver in person…celeb sighting!

Find the fun where you can!
These boys swam one whole mile! That’s 66 laps! They both did it last year too. Go boys go!

There was a big group of the older kids that all swam it…

There were some Samantha’s age that did it but she was at a camp that morning so it didn’t work out. She had a second chance this week but decided to go to tennis instead. You know I can’t hate on that!!

Maxwell actually went back and swam it for a second time this week. Lots of activity this summer!
The culmination of the swim season was on Saturday at the Senior County swim meet! I was so proud of all of the kids for qualifying in every event! You had to have a certain time in each event to be qualified to swim at SRCO and they did!! Woohoo! The meet was Saturday and Sunday at the Crossplex but we could only attend Saturday because we had to take Spencer to camp. It worked out great though because Saturday was freestyle, breaststroke, and IM – their favorites!

It was a really cool experience and I’m so glad we did it. Swimming has taught them so much about competing against themselves and their own time. Team sports are great but doing some individual sports is important too!

It was pretty cool to see their names up on the big screen at the Crossplex…

and doing it with friends makes it that much more fun of course!

None of them ended up with high finishes. Maxwell’s relay team got 4th but then he had a goggle malfunction on his freestyle which messed him up. Samantha won her heat in breaststroke and actually got 1st place overall but got DQ’d. Spencer swam great but didn’t crack that top tier.

I’m just so proud of them for going and giving it their all!

Go MBC Magic!
