Memorial Day 2012…
Thank you to all of those that serve our country!
Enjoy the day!
Mother’s Day is nice. Robert went to the grocery store with me, let me run some errands in the afternoon (by myself!) and cooked me dinner. He and Maxwell also gave me an awesome new insulated Starbucks cup. Susan and Maxwell got this fantastic frame made for me…
I love it so much I can’t even tell you. I will treasure his little handprint on there!
But, the best present of all? This little guy of course…
Thank you to everyone for making me feel so loved!! I’m one lucky mama!
Man I love that scrunched up piggy nose!!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
I know you’re probably tired of Easter pictures by now but, sorry Charlie, I’ve got a few more to share!
We had lunch at the country club on Sunday and Maxwell wasn’t much interested in any of the food on the buffet. He wasn’t much interested in sitting his high chair either. Luckily, we were in a big ball room right by some great windows with 2 cousins that loved to entertain Maxwell. There were also plenty of other kids in the room so him running all over the place wasn’t too much of a distraction.
Maxwell had a blast boot-leg running around, doling out kisses and just generally being too cute for words.
Finally, what’s Easter without a visit from the Easter Bunny?! Maxwell must have been extra special good this year because the Bunny visited him twice! He woke up Sunday morning in Montgomery to find a few treats…
and then came home to Birmingham only to find out that the Bunny had visited him there as well!
He loved his new “ga-ga’s”!
Gotta love Easter presents in your snowman pajamas!
And I promise that’s it for the Easter pictures! See you tomorrow!
ps – I would like you all to catch a glimpse of Robert’s shirt in the Bunny pictures from Sunday morning. For years I’ve heard stories of the purple and green polka dot shirt that he actually wore in high school. When he came downstairs Sunday morning in that shirt that had clearly been sitting in a drawer for about 20 years, I started dying laughing. I’m sure there was a time that that shirt was pretty cool (maybe?) when worn with some stonewashed jeans and Timberland boots. My how styles have changed.
After the egg hunt on Saturday, we spent the night at Robert’s parent’s house in Montgomery. As I mentioned on Monday, Maxwell went to sleep with very little crying for the first time ever over there. Hooray! We tried to make everything as familiar as possible – we had his animals, his sound machine, his Twilight Turtle – and we also put him in a different room than before. I don’t know what the trick was but I’m so glad it worked!
On Sunday I took my camera outside for a little photoshoot since we were all dressed in our Easter finest. Enjoy the pics…
And my favorite of the day…
My little piggy! Oink oink!
Have a great day!
Like last year, we drove down to Montgomery on the Saturday before Easter to go to the annual Inscoe egg hunt. It’s a fun time for all and a great opportunity for Robert to see lots of high school friends. Thankfully Maxwell mastered his boot-leg walking on Friday before we left so we didn’t have to carry him all day. Once we got there (with only a 20 minute nap in the car) he didn’t stop for one second. He was practically running all over the yard. I have to say it – he looked pretty darn cute limping around in his seersucker and black boot! As my mom keeps saying, “bless his little heart!”
While he was roaming around a majority of the time, he did stop for a minute to take in the scene from this good vantage point…
**please also notice that Maxwell has a cookie in his hand in every single picture! sweet tooth!
Maxwell was glad to see all of his family like Lulu…
and Aunt Jenny. He was so excited to see Jenny that he ran right up to her and gave her a high 5!
Jenny totally got into the occasion and rocked an Easter bonnet…with all the frills upon it!
Maxwell was gearing up for the hunt by carrying his “bag” around with him all afternoon…
And when it came time for the hunt, Maxwell instinctively knew exactly what to do! He got out there and starting putting those candy eggs in his Easter basket just like he had done it 100 times. And he did it all with a cookie in one hand to boot! This boy’s got skills…
After collecting his eggs, he had to sit down and check out his loot…
I think he was pleased with his haul and promptly dumped all of his eggs out onto the ground only to pick them all back up again! I know his hair looks red in those pics but it’s really just the light.
The rest of the afternoon went great. We played with cute cousins…
Explored all areas of the yard…
and had a slightly traumatic run-in with a bunny!
The best part of the day was that Robert got to catch up with some old friends…
and we got to spend a little quality time together as a family!
Maxwell was clearly thrilled.
Tomorrow I’ve got pics from Easter day. Until then, here’s a little “bah” from LuLu and Maxwell…
See you tomorrow!
