2 days and counting!  We spent our final before Christmas weekend getting ready and having fun!

On Friday, Maxwell and Spencer got to open their first presents of the season.  Fire truck pjs from Mrs. Susan!

On Saturday, I took Maxwell to get a little trim of that shaggy do…

and she did a great job of shaping it up while still leaving it a shaggy do!  🙂

That day we decided to be brave and actually went to the mall.  Yes, the big time mall on the Saturday before Christmas…and we survived.  Not only did we survive, but I think the boys actually had fun…

Plus we were able to snag a great gag gift for the party Robert and I went to that night (which was super fun and had a magician!)  Success!

After naps, Spencerooski (Maxwell’s new nickname for his brother!) woke up with an awesome case of bed head…

and didn’t get the memo that said “you better not pout!”

ha!  Luckily, the pouting didn’t last long.

We’re all excited for Christmas to get here!

Ho Ho Ho!

On Tuesday night we headed over to The Club to see the big, fat, jolly man.  Yep, Santa himself made an appearance.  As Maxwell said later that night, “We thought it was going to be one of his helpers but that was really Santa!”  Love it!

I really didn’t know how Maxwell was going to do.  Up to that point, he had zero desire to sit on Santa’s lap.  But, we’ve been talking it up about how he needs to tell Santa what he wants so he’ll have time to get his elves to make it in his workshop.  His response? “It’s fine. His elves can just go to Target.”  ha!

Well, we saw Santa and he did great!  He nervously sat on his lap and told him that he wanted “two diggers” and then Santa asked if he wanted any other toys and he said, “no, that’s all.”  Sweet boy.  He then told Santa that Spencer wants “a dump truck, that’s all.”

I love him.

Spencer did fine.  He didn’t fuss…even though this picture makes it look otherwise!  Not sure where this face came from!

On the drive home after dinner Maxwell was telling me that he wants the two diggers and then, in a whisper, said “and also three other surprises but I can’t tell.” I convinced him to tell me and he said, again in a whisper, “a dump truck, a crane and a jackhammer.” I’m not sure where this whole “surprise” thing came from and the idea that Santa only brings 2 presents?  Maybe from some of the books he’s read?  I personally think he’s been good enough to get the two diggers and a few surprises but we’ll see Christmas morning!  🙂

Ho Ho Ho!

Just a few things going on here…

First, good news (because I’m sure so many of you were concerned! ha!), you can finally add my blog to various blog readers such as Feedly or Bloglovin.  There was some issue before but it’s all fixed now.  So, add us and you’ll have an even easier way to keep up with all of our adventures!  On another note, I’m going to learn to write code when I grow up.  Forget Spanish, I want to learn how to speak computer!

Second, Spencer has had this little patch of very dry skin on his face right by his mouth for over a month.  I called the nurse and she said it was either eczema or ringworm (!).

I took him up the doc yesterday and thankfully it’s just a little patch of eczema.  We got a prescription ointment and hopefully will have it cleared up in no time.  On another note, can we talk about my baby’s baby blues?!  and those eyelashes?!  I love him.

Third, I’m having a little trouble getting into the full Christmas spirit this year.  I only have 8 days to turn that around.  I better pack my Bah Humbug up in the attic and bring out my Holly Jolly pronto.  Perhaps a little Kenny and Dolly will get me into the spirit?  On another note, I got Kelly Clarkson’s new Christmas CD this year and it’s pretty good.  The girl’s got pipes!  But am I wrong in only wanting to hear traditional Christmas songs on a Christmas CD? and, yes, I know the songs on Kenny and Dolly aren’t all traditional but I’ve been listening to it long enough that they’ve become traditions to me!

Finally, it was nice enough in the afternoon yesterday for Maxwell to do this…
