Mothers in MGM
First, a BIG Happy 5th Birthday to Delaney today!! We love you Delaney!!

Still one of my favorite pics! 🙂
Second, after breakfast on Mother’s Day, we loaded up to head down to Montgomery for the day. I tried to snap a pic with my boys since we were all dressed up. You’d think they’d at least cooperate with their MOTHER on MOTHER’S DAY would’t you? Nope, not even on Mother’s Day. This was the best we got…

I’ll take it.
Side note, I honestly decided to wear the orange top and shoes because Maxwell’s favorite color is orange. When he saw me dressed he said, very excitedly, “Momma you look bee-yoo-ti-ful!!” Yes, the orange shirt was the right decision! 🙂
We got in the car and Maxwell quickly stuck his nose in the ipad…

While Spencer stuck his nose in a book…

He didn’t last long though…

and thankfully got a little nap on the way down.

We met the Browns and the Brown Juniors at the country club for brunch. It was a beautiful day so we let the kids run around a bit before we ate…

Jenny and I treated ourselves to mimosas…it was Mother’s Day after all!

After the kids ate a healthy lunch of french fries and waffles, we headed over to check out Jenny and Ronnie’s awesome new house. The kids played, the adults chatted and it was great. We then decided to all head to the pool back up at the country club. I wish I had pics from the pool but I was too busy wrangling a VERY happy Spencer in the “zero entry” section of the incredible pool. Maxwell was in the other section of the pool with Robert showing off his swimming skills and must have belly flopped jumped off the side 352 times. It was such a fun afternoon!
We then loaded up the car and the boys watched the iPad almost all the way back. It ran out of battery power about 15 minutes before before we got home and, by the time we pulled into the driveway, both boys looked like this.

An exhausting day but so much fun! So glad we got to see the Montgomery Browns for the day!
Mother’s Day
Well, let’s just say it’s good to be Momma around here! 🙂 Susan and the boys declared it not just “mother’s day” but “mother’s weekend” so I had goodies lined up from Friday to Sunday!
The fun started on Friday with a GIANT orange (of course) box full of balloons! Fun for all!

I also got a fantastic orange card from my favorite 3 year old.
On Saturday, I got to open all of Maxwell treats he made at school. I got a beautiful footprint flower…

and a thumb print card and potted flower with the pot hand-painted by Mr. Maxwell, himself.

Awesome. He also made this mini Maxwell complete with firetruck shirt and brown eyes.

Adorable. I then got to open my second present from Susan and the boys. The box was pretty impressive…

and inside was a new kitchen scrub brush. Ha! Well, I did need one! 🙂

Maxwell had fun scrubbing his brother…

and thought that was pretty funny.

On Sunday, I got my final presents. First was a handprint tray from Susan and the boys.

It matches the frame she had made with Maxwell’s handprints 2 years ago. Perfect!
Second, Susan, along with Barry, also fixed my broken Rooster!! hooray!!

I am SO pleased to have my rooster back in one piece in the kitchen where he belongs! yay!
Finally, Robert and the boys got me a big Le Creuset pot to do all kinds of cooking in…

Whoa! I must have been good this year! I love the gray color and am so excited to have it!
A BIG thank you to Susan, the boys and Robert for making me feel SO special. But, as much fun as the presents are, the best part of Mother’s Weekend was just getting to love on these two sweet, sweet boys.

Lucky me!
Happy Mother’s Day!
How lucky are we to have so many great mommas around?
We sure do love Lulu…

Susu…

and GJ…

We’re sending you all a big virtual hug from Jake and Cubby…

Superbaby…

and Superman!

Thanks for being the bestest!! Happy Mother’s Day!
More Easter fun
On Easter morning we had a bundle of bedheads all excited to head upstairs and see what the bunny brought!

But, we had to make them first take a pic on the stairs where Spencer tried to swipe Katie’s glasses!

We did end up with a cute one though…

We made it upstairs to find out that the Easter Bunny did indeed find us in the mountains! Hooray! He left quite a “super” group of gifts for the boys too – a Superman tshirt, some Superhero pi’s, some Superman and Batman books and even a reversible Superman/Batman cape! (rumor has it that the Bunny emailed GJ and Susu to get a little help in making the SUPER capes!). The boys loved it all!

And we all loved the sunshine that finally decided to come out on Easter day! Hooray! We went outside and let everyone run some energy out!

After a good meal and plenty of good conversation, Robert and I loaded up our little superheroes and headed back to Birmingham.

As much fun as we had in the mountains, it was good to be home. Robert and I tucked out tired selves into bed that night knowing we were being safely guarded by two snoring superheroes…

Hope you all had a Happy Easter!
