Dyeing eggs

March 29, 2016

The Easter fun started on Friday when we dyed eggs!

Maxwell was very meticulous with his leaving them in the dye to soak for a long time to make brighter colors and then decorating a few with Sharpies.

Spencer took more of the drop and move approach! Each of his eggs went into several different cups several different times!

Poor baby was sad to be missing out on all the fun.

As a consolation, I gave her a chocolate Oreo.

She was a fan! and the boys were glad to have her out of their way!  🙂

Egg hunt

March 25, 2016

Happy almost Easter!

We all made it up to church for Palm Sunday last weekend and for our church’s egg hunt. My crew looked cute, at least in my opinion!  😉

Spencer wearing “big boy” church clothes is almost too much for me…

Baby wore her pretty blue dress again because it was much colder than we expected that morning!

We then headed up to church for the egg hunt…

I’m just going to state that I might never again attend our church’s egg hunt. It’s just not set up well – the areas for the little and big kids are separated – but the boys wanted to be together – and then it’s hard on the parents to have to go with kids to different areas  – and they make them all get into one big photo and then everyone has to file out basically single file to get to the egg areas – and, well, it’s just never the fun it’s supposed to be.

Spencer was especially having a rough day. Granted, he didn’t feel good and ended up at the doctor the next day but, still. He wanted to go with Maxwell but then couldn’t see him in all the group of kids. He then wanted to go to the egg area for 3 and under but by the time we got there all the eggs were gone. He was pretty upset having only 1 egg in his basket. Other kids (urged by their parents!) were very nice to share a few eggs so he didn’t go home completely empty handed.

I’m thinking the egg hunt at our house on Easter morning will be more his speed!

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Happy Valentine’s Day

February 15, 2016

I hope you all had a LOVEly Valentine’s Day! We celebrated a little early with the kids’ parties at school last week. I was the party mom for both Maxwell and Spencer’s class so got to make our favorite Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Valentine M&Ms cookies! yum! I also put together little goodie bags for Maxwell’s class with heart straws, flashing rings, chocolate hearts and Valentine granola bars.

As always, we made the Valentines they took to their friends. We weren’t quite as crafty as in previous years (2013, 2014, 2015), but when I found these lion and tiger valentines on Etsy, I knew the boys would like them better than anything we could make! So, I bought the download, printed them on cardstock and then wrapped them up with some goodies that the boys chose.

Spencer’s had “o-o”s and suckers.

Maxwell’s had Kit Kats, suckers, and tattoos – snakes for the boys, rainbows for the girls!

The 2s teachers don’t really want the parents to come up for the parties – it’s too distracting – but the 4s teachers don’t mind. I loved getting to go up to Maxwell’s class and see him in his element.

I sure do love my three little Valentines!!!

Long weekend

January 21, 2016

We definitely enjoyed our long weekend last weekend. It started off with a bang for Maxwell when Robert took him to the Lego BrickFair at the BJCC!

He even came home with two GIANT boxes of Legos – both of which were completed within a day and a half! He’s a Lego machine!

The rest of the weekend? We enjoyed the beautiful weather on Saturday with a neighborhood stroll…

and bundled up for a much chillier stroll on Sunday!

Maxwell missed that walk because he got to go bowling with a buddy!
