Is his bottom front tooth!!
When I saw Maxwell after school last Monday, he gave me a big ole grin and that tooth was gone! I knew it was loose but I didn’t think it was that loose!! He said he was eating his lunch and could feel it moving more so he went to the bathroom, gave it a few good wiggles, and then pulled it out all by himself! whoa!!!
I’m excited for him and thankful I didn’t have to pull it!! The tooth fairy came that night and generously left $5! Must be a “first tooth special”! 😉
Maxwell is officially a Boy Scout!
Well, he’s a Tiger Scout. But he’s earning badges and learning the ways of scouting. He’s had a few den meetings and it’s a good group of boys from his school.
I think he’s having fun…and really enjoying wearing the neckerchief. 😉 Their last meeting on Sunday was right after basketball so he had a little “business on top, party on bottom” situation going!
The most awesome part of scouts so far? The campout! Yep, Robert and Maxwell slept outside all night in a tent two weeks ago. Unfortunately, it happened to be a frigid night with temps in the 30s!!! But, these troopers stuck it out, warmed themselves by the fire, and made it all night.
They even got to shoot rockets in the morning!

Scout’s honor!
Happy Monday! Mondays are now “dance day” around our house! After Samantha’s first dance class was cancelled thanks to Irma, she finally got to go last week and it was ADORABLE! I definitely think I enjoyed it more than anyone else…tiny dancers included! ha! She looked cuter than anything I’ve ever seen in this entire world in her pink tutu and pigtails!!!
I mean…I cannot handle the cuteness – and personality! – of this baby girl!!!

She was really excited to go but was a little unsure when class actually started so her finger went into her nose, of course…
She quickly warmed up though and was twirling around and following the teacher’s instructions in no time!
The parents get to watch from behind a 2 way mirror and it was funny to see the kids check themselves out when they didn’t know we were on the other side! ha!
She really did enjoy it. She maybe didn’t enjoy having to take more pictures after class…
but she smiled for me anyway!
Even better? She’s getting to take with one of her school friends, Susie!
I’m so so excited about this new adventure for my little ballerina! Dance dance dance!

Samantha finally got her turn to start school last Tuesday! She was ALL smiles that morning…a serious CHEEEEEESE face!
I told her to maybe not scrunch her face up quite so much, which she thought was crazy…
but I did end up with this cute smile!
She’s going Tuesday and Thursday this year with Mrs. Betsy in 2K – one of my favorite teachers that both boys also had. She was such a big girl going into class and, while there was a lot to check out…
she did just fine with no tears at all! Hooray! She quickly found some toys…
and some friends…
and made herself comfy! 🙂
The school year is off to a great start!
Yesterday was Maxwell’s FIRST day of FIRST grade! I think it’s going to be a great year. We went up on Monday to meet his new teacher, Mrs. Liddle.
She seems really sweet and Maxwell is excited he got her. He even took his 100 Books list to show her! She was pretty impressed. 🙂
Unfortunately, her husband had a heart attack last weekend (!) so she’s going to miss the first week of school. He should be fine though and she’ll be back next week if all goes to plan. The class has a great sub this week and it will all be fine. After all, we’re used to starting and ending the school year with a different teacher!
On the first day, Maxwell was all neon and ready to go!
He had goodbye hugs for Spencer and Samantha…
and then off he went!
When he came home that afternoon he was all smiles with this in his backpack…
I’d say that’s a sign of a good day! I’m so proud of this kid and can’t wait for him to learn all kinds of fun things this year! Go Maxwell!
